I'd rebrand them as UFC owned companies the name alone would attract more eyes to the show.LOL That is literally what they do, I mean what you describe is exactly what they are doing. They have several promotions on UFC Fight Pass getting money from them to make events so they can build prospects. And all of them have champions. Those are your "regional champs" you mention. Then those guys are selected to fight each other in the "Dana White contender series" to earn a contract, that's your "big show" you mention.
That and the Apex was how they went from 17 to 13 percent in fighter payout.. I doubt they care. Need to pay that dividends chaps.
They are doing everything to ruin the structure beneath them (the major regional ones champs etc that actually costs money, and will buy then have competition to sign) as a cost cutting measure that actually the Fertittas cherished, a couple of hedgefund guys wont care. They have to pay off that loan.
UFC is both major and minor leagues now.
