Yeah even though Stipe arguably doesn't deserve it, at least the fight with Jones & him was originally lined up before Aspinall got the interim belt. So it makes sense from the UFC's perspective not to "punish" Stipe for Jones injury by not giving him the fight now. But yeah Pereira somehow...

He was saying that when he fought Chandler so it's not really a new excuse. I don't think he ever said that's the sole reason he lost but surely it could've played a role.
