Won more fights in a row then Gane prior to losing to Jones/Aspinall( 6 fight win streak vs no win streak). Beat mutual competition faster and more easily than Gane(Lewis, Tai).
I never understood why people questioned Overeem's heart, he just looks like he has a nervous system issue where he gets sort of frozen by big shots but isn't fully unconscious and just literally can't defend himself cause his body isn't functioning correctly, Mir seems to have the same thing...
King Mo fought his whole career at 205 and HW and was a great wrestler. Mousasi was notorious for having poor TDD and the fight was won by 1 round and was even controversial back before the scoring criteria was changed and Mousasi was his best at 185 and this is a thread bout how he would do...
Mousasi is a 185er not a 205er, style wise those guys also match up better as both have strong TDD. Besides like I said in my previous post with the modern judging criteria Mousasi probably would have won.
You're underrated King Mo, the fact that it was at 205 and not 185 and that style match ups matter. Besides like I said in my previous post with the modern judging criteria Mousasi probably would have won.
I don't think it's so much that as a lot of newer fans just talk shit about fighters that were passed their primes before they started watching and don't know what they were actually good at. Shogun in his prime was primarily a striker but frequently went for takedowns to land very hard strikes...
King Mo KOed Jiri on the feet and was one of the best wrestlers to ever compete at 205. Besides, it was a close loss where Mo won 3 rounds via top control but got beat up pretty badly in the fight. With the judging criteria we have now Mo probably would have lost 48-47 instead of winning 48-47.
Wouldn't be close to 50/50. Prime Shogun had great takedowns and had some of the best GnP ever at 205. He would have taken Alex down and beat the crap out of him on the ground.
You can't judge fights by totals, fights aren't judged as a whole and there were no takedowns in rounds 1-3 so getting takedowns in round 4 or 5 doesn't win you previous rounds.
Yeah, I don’t know why he seems to think either looked bad. Costa added new tools to his game and looked better than ever and Whittaker looked rejuvenated after the DDP loss and looked to me like he's still a title contender.
69% is still good and he has never been finished and has better cardio than anyone else I listed. That plus Khamzat's poor cardio makes him a tough style match up especially if we are talking 5 round fights.
Yes, they have plenty of UK fighters that sell well to put on the UK card and it always made the most sense to put Belal on a UK card that they can stack to make up for his lack of drawing power.
