I think Jones was the one twisting the UFC's hand on this fight. The UFC doesn't really get along with Stipe and his people for years now and he is basically done so why bother with him.
It was a concession they gave into to get Jones back.
Anderson Silva and this promoter should be ashamed of themselves with this boxing match up. It's nothing but a money grab.
I don't blame Chael as he'll tell you this doesn't make sense on any level outside of payday.
This excuse ranks right up there with a cracked skull.
Father time caught up to him years ago. Nobody is paying much to see Tyron fight today and he was mad at the pay in MMA when he was champ.
I think its as simple as the UFC knows that the HW division is a mess right now and the last thing they need to create is a bigger mess at HW and LHW.
The UFC is bending over backwards to let Jones fight Stipe. It is what Jones wants and behind close doors I'm highly doubt the UFC wants that...
Would've been interesting to see how great Brock would've been if he started in his mid 20's to late 20's with real MMA gym and actually learned how to take a punch and stay calm.
The guy probably would've gone down as one of the best to ever do it at HW.
Wrestling is wrestling.
MMA is MMA.
Been well documented being stud in one doesn't always translate into being stud in the other. Surely, does help though.
There is little doubt that CroCop's kickboxing career was murderous row of guys and is well beyond anything Alex accomplished when really analyzing it.
MMA a toss up, but Alex seems like over time he'll take that lead for sure.
So I guess a tie.
Nobody is ever happy are they????
People bitch on here about the UFC trying to make the next star and get pissed when they aren't pushing someone.
Personally, I don't see the UFC going that far out of there way to push Bo down fans throats. Guy like Sage was pushed a lot harder.
Owners/Investors will always get paid more than the athletes share in any profitable sports franchise. Even in the NFL they only get to balance it out slightly every 10 years or so when the Players association get to renegotiate the CBA deal and that really is only on the surface that it looks...
