Lol, I did the same, and don't regret it. Sad to say, I also had the racism factor as part of the equation, as well. Boston gonna boston, although apparently not tonight, which is a good thing, obviously

It is. which is why when I saw that 2k constituted only 2 units for you, I had to ask. 100k is one beefy sized br for betting. At least for most Sherdog standards, that is.

That's one massive unit size (no homo). Dare I ask what percentage of your BR constitutes 1 unit? Congrats, btw.

Yup, -160 is fantastic value for him. I've been down on Boetsch going back way before the Hendo fight, but I'm down on Herman much much more.

Damn, anyone hit that Sanders-SUB line @ +1080?? If so, massive props

Close fight, but clearly anyone advocating a play on the dog was on the right side, regardless of outcome.

Thanks for the brainstorming, Jae. Good stuff.

Lol, I thought it was a good idea. When you consider that guys are already posting their bets in the threads anyways, why not provide a place to aggregate it for everyone to see that's always open and not buried and scattered through multiple threads? You're always going to get guys fudging...

Great suggestions. A bet tracker thread has been brought up by others, as well. The "live" thread launching fight night is something that sounds good, too. Good post, and yes, it's very much appreciated. Cheers!

    Non-MMA Sports Betting Discussion - January 2016

I don't bet much sports if I can't watch it, which is why I mostly only bet the Celtics, but I'm on the Jazz to cover the spread tonight against Houston. Houston has been playing terrible, and almost lost to the Jazz in a close game last week. They're an incredibly inconsistent team, and the...

Thanks JB. Yeah, the community feel has always been the nicest thing about talking with everyone in the betting threads. On the individual fight threads, guys didn't like it, so it's gone. No harm no foul. The way it is now, it's still staying with the large group thread theme, but minimally...

I do think it could end up being a good idea, but for now, I think let's just stick with how you set it up. Too many changes at one time might end up confusing some people.

Thanks man, hope you find it of use. On betting tips, or any kind of conversation involving betting theory, if anyone wants to write something up, I would like to put something together that we can have as a reference point, because there are always going to be people that need to learn even...

Hey @EzFlyer just want to make sure I understand correctly... As you have it setup now, the thread "futures" is for any fight in a event you haven't opened up yet? At what point do you open an event? Based on amount of open lines? Or how near we are to a date?

I think this would be a great idea. Would be useful on so many levels. For guys looking to tail, and also as a public way for the bettors to put their betting track record out there, and not have it buried and spread out through multiple events. A sort of "bettors log" exclusively for nothing...

Well, EZ put together a pretty good setup just now, and I think his expertise is very useful here, because he's modded at other betting forums before. As for sports betting, that does need to be in it's own thread. There's no reason for it to be mixed in with any of the fight related content...

Ah yes, my dude EZ here with the voice of reason... Yes, there's defiitely a middle ground to be had here. The way you guys do things over at oddsb is a pretty nice arrangement that I would't be against. Not too different from pretty much any other betting forum, basically.

Thanks for the input, O. And yeah, there have been many varying schools of thoughts on it through the years. Most people that are left posting in the thread now, simply just weren't around to remember when the thread was less cluttered and was comprised of almost an entirely different group of...
