I remember Frankie had never been finished until the Ortega fight. It was a quick downturn after that. Most of his skills were still there but the chin and durability were gone. Even through his final fights he did well for a while, then he'd get clipped and finished. It's still amazing to think...
Also, Aldo is the only of the long running champs to not get an immediate rematch (with the exception of Mighty Mouse who left the UFC after the Cejudo loss).
PFL just got 100 million from the Saudis, so they can afford it. They could also just do the card in Saudi Arabia and the Saudis would pay the purses.
Who knows with Nate. At this point he does things because he wants to. If he doesn't want to do it, the money won't change his mind. I suspect...
Now I hope Barboza loses this weekend.I mean come on now. it's Anderson and Aldo top 2, the rest is a toss up. No way Wanderlei or Shogun is above Aldo, dude was untouchable for like 10 years. Even at 35 and down a weight class he was top 3. I will never forgive the UFC for giving TJ that title...
Crazy that it's also been 7 years since he won the LW belt. Who would've guessed after that night that he would only fight 4 times in the next 7 years and go 1 - 3. That Floyd fight really made his life, but ruined his career as a fighter.

First, I did address your question you just ignored it for some reason. Izzy announced he wasn't interested in the trilogy immediately after the fight, which was before Alex announced he was moving to 205. Alex wanted the trilogy, even saying he would go back to 185 to do the trilogy. The...
"He decided to do what champions should do and faced a new contender. "
Really, champions pass on the biggest fight with their biggest rival and pass on settling a rivalry and leaving it 1 - 1? So that he could face Dricus or Strickland? (Those were literally the only 2 other contenders). Give...
He fought pretty much cans en route to his title shot. His performance against Dom was great, but also consider he'd been training to fight Dom basically his whole career. The whole Alpha male camp was basically geared towards beating Dom for about 6 or 7 years. shrug.
There is really nothing interesting about this fight. Izzy is most likely going to coast to a safe feint heavy decision. Strickland has basically no advantages and certainly not knock out power. Prepare yourself for the return of the feint/leg kick version of Izzy. it's going to suck.
Not a big Conor guy, but no beating Magney by decision does not make you better than a 2 division champ. Ian is very good, but let's see how he does when he gets to the guys in themtop of WW. Shavkat, Burns, Belal, Colby and Usman. Not convinced he beats any of them at the moment. He's 25.
I mean a long win streak on the way to the title is nice, but usually it's only the last 2 or 3 wins of the streak that are elite opponents. I'd sat Tony's best wins in that streak were RDA and Kevin Lee, the rest don't really hold up that great. Same with Max's win streak. only high level at...
