Jones is iron chinned but he got outstruck for 3/5ths of the fight. Reyes landed more. He was on the back foot yes, but that’s the fight game, someone is the bull and someone is the matador. Jones did nothing with his takedown.
Would have liked to see him pace himself a bit more and be willing to stand in front of Jon and trade. Felt like he blew his wad by the 4th but he still won the first 3 for me.
I’ve never rated Jon too highly until he beat DC, but I still see Jon for what he is - an extremely tactical fighter with a great team behind him that know how to game plan well. As far as his power and technique go, he’s not amazing. I honestly feel that last night didn’t go to plan for him...

That’s not how a fight works though, they are judged on what happens during the fight it doesn’t make a difference if one guy is fresher because he coasted the whole time throwing 1 strike every 30 seconds with no combos or anything. Jon is point fighting garbage.
I think the common perception is that if a fight is even on strikes then whoever lands the most takedowns wins the round, but when one guy is outstruck for the round and then squeezes a takedown in to tactically steal that round, what is the deficit in strikes that is allowed before the guy who...
