I find it strange that he went from being a top kickboxer to be champion of UFC in two divisions and now maybe a 3rd one without having to face a single wrestler. What he did is incredible, but I feel the road set in front of him was favoring his style.
It is hard to argue against Jones unless you account for PEDs. Otherwise you probably have to go with GSP who avenged both his losses. Then you have the Spider, MM and Fedor for which there are some arguments. Khabib might just be the best fighter ever, but we will never know cause he retired...
But seriously, why not? The penalties have to be high enough to discourage cheating. Who would dare to try cheating unless close to retirement with such rules in place?
IMO; what you win in strength you loose in speed by being bigger. And given that both these guys can KO anyone with a single well placed punch, Perreira wouldn't be andicaped much by going up.
You have good arguments that made me thinking. I still feel however that Fedor have summited a lot of guys that didn't have much of a BJJ game. He wouldn't be able to pull those arm bars as easily against current fighters. IMO Jones BJJ is the best of the three because he is able to catch the...
The way he tweeted after the attack on Israel on October 7th showed he has a good side. He said something in the line that people will all be angry and in an hurry for vengeance, even if that means killing women and children's. Lets all pick a flag and hope for the other team to die. He was...
Choi, Mark Hunt, Antonio Silva and Matt Lindland (a MW), have also took Fedor down. Fedor is average as best with his TDD. Still great everywhere else, but short of being as complete as GSP and Jones who can dictate where the fight ends-up. There is no shame to be behind them btw. He is also...
Maybe thats before his MMA career. There is no way he couln't lift more than 55lbs dumbells given how naturally strong he was even in his early fights. Maybe his comfort zone was 55 lbs, but he could have lift more obviously.
I just remember the second part; lift weight not to be a better fighter, but to sell. Also, I am pretty sure he has done it more later on to move to MW.
Could have been even worst. Josh kept himself from jumping and punching on Bryce as he was falling. Many like Rampage back in the day would have kept punching until stopped.
