    Muay Thai Gym Q&A

I'm finding following the gyms on Facebook helps you get a feel for a gym and it's balance of hardcore vs farang friendly. Some post vids of training etc which is good. Also read the reviews posted via Facebook too. There is no one perfect gym as everyone is after different things.

    Muay Thai Gym Q&A

When I first started looking I thought fa group for clinch. But looking at vids they posts it looks small they have too many trainers doing pad in ring at one time and not enough bags. But the clinch focus would be great. I seriously considered keathamtorn as they apparently have a good clinch game.

    Muay Thai Gym Q&A

It's what my trainer says. If you want a good non tourist gym go Bangkok. If you want more western style go to tourist spot such as phuket.

    Muay Thai Gym Q&A

I have a pair for bags/pads currently 12oz but 10oz would be fine. I have a pair I keep for sparring 14oz, if your a big hitter go for 16oz. You don't want to be sparring with worn out gloves as they lose padding and it's disrespectful to your opponent.

    Muay Thai Gym Q&A

There's heaps in Bangkok, I'm trying Kiatphontip next year it has accommodation, food, and training package. The one that has the bathroom as ensuite is 1300 baht per day (including training, food, accommodation) for stays more than 2 weeks. They have cheaper options with share bathrooms etc...

    Muay Thai Gym Q&A

I was for awhile but after watching a few of their live streams I worry about it being crowded. But their location is great, close to train etc. Have you followed their Facebook to get a feel for the gym?

    Muay Thai Gym Q&A

Don't think these forums are frequented much. Have you done some Google searches? I'm planning my return around what info I can find on the net. I went to Santai in Chiang Mai Jan 2018, they were one of the cheapest gyms and the food around that area is very good and very cheap. Santai was good...

Crime NZ Christchurch Shooting (Part II) [5/29/2019: "Egg boy" donates $70k to survivors]

The media in nz are great at warping facts and making them sound a certain way. Our prime minister is really good at saying lots of words without saying anything of actual meaning or committing to anything. She never directly said it will definitely happen, It's likely gun laws won't change or...

Crime NZ Christchurch Shooting (Part II) [5/29/2019: "Egg boy" donates $70k to survivors]

There are only 2 in chch both were attacked. Linwood is in a rough area which always has a police patrol nearby. Deans Ave is a mixed area overlooking our main park, not a high police presence unless there is an event on.

Crime NZ Christchurch Shooting (Part II) [5/29/2019: "Egg boy" donates $70k to survivors]

I've lived in christchurch all my life and would not expect this sort of thing. Even the gangs have spoken out against these killings. We like to think we are not racist on the whole in New Zealand but it's still there like in any country. Gun control is not as tight as it should be and has...

    Crime Shooting at Christchurch Mosque

I live in Christchurch and this is the last thing you would expect here. We are a small country and christchurch is a small city so not alot of crazies. Our gun laws are tight, you can get a semi auto with the right licence but the police have records on all guns owned etc. Guns are for hunting...

    Why I like WMMA

I find seeing women fight inspiring... If I hadn't started so late in life I'd be inspired to try and get to their level. What I've seen on these forums is a bunch of guys more interested in posting pics of scantily clad women than talking about actual martial arts. So it's not surprising there...

What do you keep in your vegetable crisper?

At the moment the crisper and the bottom of my fridge is full of cucumbers... The plants are doing really well this year hopefully will get around to pickling them. They need to make those drawers bigger, whenever I pick broccoli or cabbage they never fit.

    Highest you've ever been?

I don't take drugs but I've been on a natural high many times from life. Most high is close call between leaving my abusive prick of a husband and winning my first fight.

Just spend $230 for a date - WASTE OF TIME!

I had someone try "buy" me once after a couple dates because I was unable to make my mind up between him and another guy... He offered to take me overseas with him... Needless to say I went with the guy who didn't try to buy me. Chicks don't like to be bought or made to feel obligated to be with...

Just spend $230 for a date - WASTE OF TIME!

So you assumed it was a date, spent lots of money and assumed it would lead to more because you spent lots of money... Maybe next time just do coffee? Or better still do something either fun or doesn't cost anything? Being inventive will get more bonus points than waving money around any day.
