Elections 16/16 members of the house in Florida vote against aid

I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion but, This shit happens almost every year. At what point do you say, "Live there at your own risk" why should tax payers in other states pay to rebuild FL?

Yes, it's Live there at their own Risk for almost all but the poorest people.

Wind and Flood Insurance is mandatory for anyone with a mortgage who live anywhere near the Gulf Coast. And its ridiculously expensive... as it should be. Every neighborhood located in coastal areas have different ratings. And FEMA cannot be used to cover properties that already have insurance.

Those commercial building buildings we all see that were razed to the ground will be rebuilt by the companies' insurance.

Some locations might be deemed too high risk for Neighborhoods and abandoned. That happened in the Houston area after Ike.

FYI - By the looks of the this bill, it appears the money being sent to Florida pales in comparison to the tens of billions we keep sending to Ukraine. How fucked up is that?

Base on your reasoning, the people in Ukraine should have been forced to join Nato decades ago, knowing they were high risk. Especially after the US (and the West) convinced them to give up their nuclear weapons.

Yet, here we are... hemorrhaging over 50 billion to them. And Asshats like you chirp up that FEMA is going to spend a few Billion in Florida.

"The package included a third tranche of aid ($12.3 Billion) to Ukraine for its battle with Russia, on top of a total of about $54 billion approved earlier this year. With the vote on Friday, Congress has now committed more military aid to Ukraine than it has to any country in a single year since the Vietnam War, reflecting a remarkable bipartisan consensus in favor of pouring huge amounts of American resources into the fight as the nation seeks to reclaim more of its territory from Russia."

But they... the right parties get their hands greased and the next phase will be a bonanza as well when it's all over they need to rebuild in Ukraine.

Don't get me wrong, i feel bad for the average FL resident that lost their home. But what i don't feel bad for is the rich Hotel owners that make $$$ every year on tourists. Why should they get my hard earned tax dollars?

Lol.. they don't.

I feel equally bad for all of them. I don't feel any empathy for their leadership who want to reach into the public coffers for their personal benefit while preaching about how we all need to share in the burdens. If they want the benefits of the federal government, I'd rather they not act like assholes towards other states. Every state has benefits and detriments, we can't only take the benefits and outsource the detriments.

I don’t agree with it, so it’s socialism. Boot straps, ever heard of em?
Now you're pretending it's some other people who didn't understand what socialism is and you randomly decided made fun of them? And in a thread that has nothing to do with socialism and no one mentioned socialism until you.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Ukraine is fighting for their lives, FL is fighting for their summer beach homes.

dude, if your going to quote me, at least do it in English. I have no fucking idea what you are talking about.

English?
Little kid, you most likely are an expert in english language.
I don't see this.
Your english sucks, this ....
Other thing: you think that Florida isn't U.S state?

English expert <45>sitting in MMA forum's entertainment section.
You should improve your own miserable english language skills before :p:eek:.
Back to school.

Oh really... You're fine with the US sending more than 5x the money to Ukraine than any country and more money than all other sources combined... and you have the audacity to bitch from your keyboard that a fraction of that amount will be sent to Florida, for our own citizens. Mainly to help out the poorest who can't afford proper insurance. Lovely...

Your priorities are fucked up.

You right wing child’s have been running around calling everything that would benefit the people of this country socialism for awhile now, so shut up communist. If you don’t like this country, leave.

Nah, I think it's just posters like you who don't actually understand what socialism is and when someone points it out, you throw out rambling posts like this. I'm betting you don't understand what "communist" means by the way you tried to use it as a quip in this context.

I don’t have a dog in this fight but we’ve already sent billions to Ukraine and will keep sending billions as long as their conflict is ongoing. Why can’t we just make separate bills instead of trying to cram a bunch of shit into one?

1. Unlike Ukraine, the Biden family don't have any business dealings in Florida so what good are they?
2. Politicians (both sides) have to find a way to bolster their net worth and return the favor to rich donors who helped them get elected. What better way to do that than with bills that are likely to pass (with the help of a little manipulation)?

Jesus Christ, you’re dense.

Jesus Christ, you’re dense.
Nice try, but we all know you don't understand what socialism/communism actually is just like all the other left-leaning posters. You try to cover your ass by pretending you're actually owning some imaginary conservative who yells at others with your incorrect understanding.

You: "Ha, you right-leaning posters can't support the govt doing anything because that's socialism!! Right!? Right!?"
"Actually, no one has said the govt helping their people is socialism"
You: "Uhhh, uhhh, you're dense!!!"

So if I understand this right the left here this aid bill was added to a stop gap bill.

These same senators were going to vote against that stop gap because they didn't agree with the spending. The democrats just thought if they added it to the stop gap they would force this people to vote for a bill they were against.

Actually I really hope the democrats and creepy Joe doesn't send any help to Florida.

Because if they don't live there they might try to move in with you.

Actually consistent. Meanwhile DeSantis begged Bidden to approve major disaster declaration for 67 counties in FL.

This gift.
Lol!

Republicans are demons wearing human flesh.. all there's to it. It was probably paired with something they hate, like helping average people.

I probably could have used aid. I lived through the worst fire in California history. The " aid" is myth.

It goes somewhere but not to victims.

Can someone explain this?

Please hold your party to a higher standard

They have ZERO interest in helping average Americans. Their very ideology is dead set against it actually. They'd rather punish woke corporations by giving them tax breaks and cutting as many regulations as possible on their business practices. That'll teach them. All y'all right-wing populists need to wake up, man. I say this with genuine concern. You are getting FUCKED.
