AbSno's Running and Back Rehab Log

Just 1.3 miles ran yesterday

My sciatica started bothering me before I hit a mile. I pushed a little hoping it would ease up, but nope.

My back and stomach are a real issue. I did a mile Monday. I've shifted to focusing on increasing my running time for now. I ran 30 minutes on Tuesday and on Wednesday. I'm shooting for 30 minutes 6 times a week in immediately or up to to 3 weeks depending on how I feel doing it. I'm waiting on the specialist to discuss my stomach now.

30 minutes ran yesterday. Probably a mile tonight because I won't get to run until late after graduation stuff for our girl.

The dad is showing uninvited, so I might get a little striking work in, maybe a little ground n' pound. Just kidding, he's a weak cowardly piece of shit and not worth the risk or slight effort it would take to beat him. He's doing a bang up job of destroying himself and he's already senseless. If you're slime that abandons their kids to be drunken dope hobos, you should be made to carry a plant around to make up for the oxygen you're wasting.

My guts hurt. I got new pills, but they take a while to work. Here's the plan:

Fast until I feel better and then eat a little of something bland. Eat healthy and modestly until I feel bad again, then repeat. Just water, plain coffee, or tea. I'm guessing drinking will trigger a fast. I'll test that tomorrow assuming the fast makes me feel better by then. I'm cool to stop drinking if so. I'll probably stop for a while anyway.

Did 30-minute run yesterday and today

I did a 30-minute run for 5 days in my first week trying to add time. I'll shoot for 6x this week. I need to start wearing my watch and track my HR to start upping my intensity.

I ran a mile on Tuesday and 30 minutes a day every other day. Tomorrow will be 6x 30 minutes for the week. I haven't started wearing the watch. I need to figure out why it isn't deleting the runs when I upload them.

I got my 6x30 minutes of running done this past week. 3 hours and 17 minutes running for the week.

I got my watch cleared so I can record my runs and start targeting my avg. heart rate. I want 123-166 average which is my calculated 70-95% of maximum. Hitting this regularly will up my running speed and help me burn some calories. I'm going to try for 70% tonight and see how I feel. I haven't been tracking it, but I think I've been mostly under 70% based on perceived exertion. I think my back and guts are ready for this.

I also completed my 1st week without alchohol in a long time. I'm going to give it a year. 1/52th done!

Today is 1,243 days of running at least 1 mile a day. I've also lost about 15 pounds in the last couple weeks since I've been focused on my diet and increased exercise. At 330, I have about 85 pounds to go to hit my all time low weight of 245.

Screenshot_20210607-201850_Connect.jpg Working on the cardio. 70% is 123bpm. I'll have to build up to doing that 6x a week. 14:30 mile and then I slowed way down. I feel pretty good now.

30 minute run 1.77 miles avg. HR 120
About 20 minutes at 70% Max HR (123)
I worked out in a national forest today. Not a taxing day, but it was hot and humid, so I'm pleased how well I felt during the run.

1 slow mile run on Thursday
30 minutes run yesterday after a long day of hiking and kayaking with a good amount of rough portaging.

My allergies are killing me today after wading through and hacking path through beauty berry in bloom. Calicarpa americana pollen is a horrible allergen. I see myself as having a chronic inflammation problem that manifests as asthma, sciatica, and gastritis/IBS. Allergic reaction to pollen is an inflammation response and I'm feeling generally shitty today. Being obese is the biggest contributor to my inflammation issues and general poor health. The increased exercise and dietary improvements have made a positive difference. Getting through yesterday and still doing a longer run was a big victory. If it wasn't for my allergies I would be feeling good today. I'm still happy that I have broken out of the rut I've been in far too long, and I'm on my way to being in good shape again. There is nothing between me an it, but a lot of hard work and I'm excited to do it. This is my second weekend since I've stopped drinking and I don't miss it.

So I haven't posted in a while, but I've been working consistently.

-30 min 6 times a week has stuck.
- I'm steadily improving my diet.
-I haven't had a drink since Memorial day.
--My weight has decreased by 17 pounds this year, with most of that in the last month or so.
-I'm going back to a plant-based diet and ---I'm going to start counting/estimating calories at least until I can get good eating habits again.
-Today starts no soda diet or regular

The bad:
- I haven't pushed myself much running
- I haven't started back rehab strength training

The diet is the last piece to get healthy and I'm feeling motivated for the first time in forever.

Runstreak day 1,272
No drinking day 37
Weight 327

I wondered where you'd got to, but sounds like everything is going well. I think if you try to take on too much or quit too many things at once it's usually not sustainable, your gradual approach is probably the best for long term success.

Keep up the good work mate.
