Addressing it > Not Addressing it.

Who is the retard here, when you would rather equate these two very different sides, as if they're both equally bad, instead of moving on to the argument of how things should be addressed?
You keep assuming shit that isn't accurate. We can't talk about problems if we have half of the government thinking there is no problem.
There has been no serious debate on what's in the Green new deal, the goals, or the science because of morons like MTG, and "people in the middle" like you that are just negative contrarians.

U can't even watch ten minutes of a solar and wind breakdown but you've got all day to babble on and say nothing. Don't get it

It takes 45 seconds to make a reply like this. (2 minutes for the longer ones because I was just repeating the same things you were ignoring) I've got no problem with engaging with people that actually are interested in having a good faith conversation on a topic.
You can't even be bothered to read my posts to get my positions down right, and then expect me to watch a 15 minute video as "homework"? Get real, man.

Not to mention that you want me to watch the video because you think I am ignorant on the topic. If you want to make a thread discussing the details of things like solar and wind energy, that's cool. I'd check it out.
But this thread wasn't about praising the Green new deal as perfect legislation. It's saying that stupid people like MTG make having any kind of conversation on this topic impossible.

Ridiculous that you won't watch it

LOL! So even when faced with a crazy picture by a rising star in your party, your reaction is to cry about how people are unfair to Putin and Trump. What a hack.

My party? I'm not one of those idiots that believes that there is a vast difference between the two major parties. They're both right-wing corporatists that are bribed by the same interests. It doesn't matter which one of those crappy parties are in power; they're both bought and they both suck. No matter which of the corporatist parties win, the people lose.

This is going to sound insane to an actual partisan hack like yourself, but just because I think the Democrats suck, doesn't mean I like the Republicans. I hate them both. They're both pro-war, anti-labor, murderous psychopaths; one of them is just better at PR. When both "sides" take bribes from the same people, there really isn't a point to sides anymore. Similar policy will be passed either way. The almighty, highly popular parliamentarian has given his unimpeachable opinion, and all must bow down. Lol.

you have Adam shift and Maxine waters. The lies are CONSTANT. You’re the dumb side now. I’m sorry that happened, because a smart left was better. Now it’s lies and leading you folk easily by the nose. Fkn sad lmao
you're still living within the bubble dooming yourself to only see the world as a partisan hack,

wake the fuck up you can.

real Americans hold healthy criticism for both sides because they are dogshit. whichever side is in power is more deserving of criticism for many reasons.

but I have to ask you this regardless, because your ignorance often amazes me.

do you know who Mitch McConnell is?

There obviously is a big difference between the parties, but you make these crazy claims because you don't actually care about policy, but you are very willing to lie to defend the GOP on every issue and to uncritically repeat their attacks. Also, I note that you completely ducked the point, which was about your pathetic deflection. Can't let any criticism of the GOP go undeflected, right?

It’s your ignorance and repulsion from truth to protect your delusions. I voted Dem until 5 years ago and could again. Truth doesn’t have a left bias like it used to. Sorry sweetheart.

It's hyperbolic but there is some truth in what she is saying. The DSA wants to abolish capitalism. This entire article is nothing but praising Marx and his writings. It ends with basically saying that socialism is a dirty word because it's never been done right. AOC is a registered DSA member and the whole BLM line about being "Trained Marxists" comes from this line of thinking:

https://www.dsausa.org/strategy/toward_freedom/

A lot of people on the left see capitalism as the ultimate evil and want to replace it with socialism. I certainly have my problems with capitalism and I think what we have now is not exactly capitalism but crony capitalism. I still think as a concept, it makes sense but just needs to be highly regulated. I'm actually open minded about it. But to pretend that these people aren't Marxists and interested in socialism and communism is being foolish. It was like we heard for years that "Defund the police doesn't mean abolish the police..." and now you have articles and groups saying "Yes...we mean abolish the police".

It's better to listen, debate and understand than pretend like this stuff isn't happening.

The problem with having these kinds of conversations is that people keep making extremely broad generalizations about what they think other people mean, cherry pick statements, and interpret every sentence in the worst way possible.
They are also either not using the same definitions, or one party simply does not know the definition of words.
Do you think that what AOC's definition of socialism is, and MTG's definition of socialism is are the same?
These people are talking past each other.

We keep talking about these words like socialism, capitalism, abolish, and Marx as if they are mystical, taboo or spiritual words. People are weaponizing these words to make very simple ideas sound scarier than they actually are.

"there is no reason to think that there is one exact “right” answer as to how socialism should be constructed, or that there is no politics apart from economic issues.
There is not one agreed upon definition of this word. There isn't one goal, or one voice or leader.
We already have "socialism" in aspects of our government. The immediate goal of the DSA is to give everyone a fair chance at success, and you can't do that in a system that is ruled by cash. People like MTG keep making these comparisons of the USSR when people have clearly and repeatedly brought up countries in Europe, and even Canada. No one is talking about "getting rid of capitalism" in the way that its being made out to be. These labels do more harm than good to the conversation, when the focus should be on policy.
Being influenced by some of the ideas of Marx doesn't make you some kind of crazy cultist. There's plenty of things that he was correct on.
