Any of you capable of consistently profiting through gambling?

I play poker. It's the only game I play. It's the only game I'd ever play. I'm a solid player and I've made a good bit of money in low stakes and a tourneys.

I will say that I've been playing on and off for about 20 years and I was an absolute shit player for about 14 of those years. I knew how to play the game, and I thought I was decent, but over time I realized that I quite literally had no approach to the game I was playing and really no idea what I was doing.

Now Im a good player. Not great, but good. I would like to play more large field tournaments. That where I feel happiest.

It takes a certain kind of person to be good at poker. And even if you're good you may not be able to make a living at it. Game selection and bankroll management are absolutely massive. You need to be disciplined as all hell. I make an extra few k a year reliably, as I don't have the time or live the kind of life where I can be a full time player.

I understand the rules of other games but I don't play them and never will. I've dedicated too much time to being a poker player and I'm not interested in playing games that are rigged for the house and taking away time from poker.

If so, by what? Sports betting, blackjack, roulette?

I'm not talking about huge scores like in heist movies or whatever but consistent profits. No need to share the secret sauce.
Yes, through Draftkings daily fantasy. I was a data analyst for years so I like looking at #s and patterns. I don't play huge ones but I win consistently. For example since I last cashed out, I deposited $20 and I'm up to around $250. I keep a spreadsheet for each sport I play NFL/NBA/MLB/NHL. My biggest win in a day was 4k on a $18 single game NBA contest. I came in first which was $12k but I split it with two others.

I also play Prize Picks and I make money, won $625 on the UFC earlier this year. But I normally only play 2 picks and I make money that way.

As a man, this is something I have to say that I *think* I should be good at. I should be able to gamble and win money.

Lol.

The reality is not that at all, and I don't waste time trying to gamble as a result.

I got dropped by 3 bookies 5+ years ago when I worked for several mma events collecting stats and was training with a bunch a pro fighters.

I was only betting when I knew something but after several months of payouts I would get dropped.

I made serious $$$ off season 1 and 2 of the PFL.

In general, live players are not better than online players. A lot of good players do both but for some it's more convenient to play from home. This might be because you don't live close to a casino to play live or because you play at lower stakes. And of course, as you should know, casinos are fucking nasty. There's more than 1% of poker players who are winners, but not by a lot. Also online doesn't take as much rake, might offer rakeback, and doesn't have a drop for a BBJ.

I agree with you that a lot of players are delusional. I had played for 5 years before I really took a shot at playing pro only to find out I was at breakeven after like 3 months of 14 hr grinding every day. It's not easy at all. I had to take a step back and examine my hands for a few weeks to plug leaks or correct them to become profitable. It takes tons and tons of time and trial and error and research and watching videos and playing with solvers and calculators etc etc but it is doable and it's more than 1%.

I think what happens is a lot of people sun run over a small sample size and think they're the shit. It happens.

I played 40 hours a week for about 5 years at the local casino. 5/10 and 10/20 limit. Was probably the best games ever lol. 6 to 7 people in every flop.

When the casino got a no limit license, the limit game died. To get players like that loose goosey online you needed to play 0.05/0.10

I like no limit tournaments and did relatively well on $8 and $11 rebuy tourneys. No limit cash games? Nah. I can do it but it could be aggravating as hell on bad weeks

Poker is the only answer, but even that requires the other players at your table to play "right".

One or two idiots can really destroy the game.

I won £29 betting on a horse once. I'm ahead for lifetime horse betting.

Wut?

You want players playing wrong. The most profitable games are the ones where players are acting a fool and playing like idiots

You just adjust your game and it's the most beatable game in existence.

I used to hear folks complain like this all the time at the 10/20 limit tables. "Omg, how do you win?this is like bingo. 7 people see every flop and call and raise with bottom pair or draws"

There is a very clear and easy way to best these games

More idiots the better
I remember my early 20s when I thought that way too lol.

"Omg, these guys are playing like idiots playing bingo. I can't read the play"

Didn't take me long to figure out the way to play them profitably. But I saw a lot of guys at 5/10 decide to jump to 10/20 because they felt they could judge and read players better LOL

Guys would come into the casino wearing sunglasses at a limit holdem game. We used to heckle them mercilessly at how stupid it was.

Yea he’s my homey. I kick it with him on a weekly basis.
We went out catching pedos on Vitaly’s live stream on kick twice in the past 4 days.

I was just scrolling through YouTube shorts and I saw a video that I'm pretty sure was you smacking around some fat dude in a pink hoodie with Mikki and Vitaly.

That was my cousin that smacked him. I’m on the same live stream wearing the teal LA hat. I was there to box any pedo that was dumb enough to sign the waiver lol. I was there for both of the streams here in LA. Mikki is my boy so we just rolled with him for the fun of cleaning up the streets.
