Bellator 155 - Carvalho vs Manhoef

man, whomever scored it 30-26 for charles is freakin bonkers. he ran away the entire 3rd round. like actually ran. staring at clock. atrocious.

happy w/the draw. it was appropriate in so many ways. could it have been 29-27 sakai? sure. rd 3 for sure was his. rd 2 prolly, too. rd 1 was close for me. but the nutshots could've affected the whole fight. draw totally appropriate IMO

How do you fix something like that? I'm not even kidding - this is an event that is going to take me away from watching some MMA. There are just too many events now that end up being pretty mediocre. Think about last Bellator.

Totally agree, I have better things to do then sit through that

It seems like for most Bellatorss, you are rely on luck, shady judging or just shady fights

Strange that Big John never deducted a point after all the warnings. Usually Big John is too liberal with the deductions.

I also feel super lucky no points were taken at all

yea, that's actually shocking, and it cost melvin the fight.. that said, he was way too fucking involved in the fight to begin with (big john).. i hate him

+2 carryover parlays for next week.

yea, i got lucky w/the carv decision. not a good bet. curran and held were clear. both felt good. fucked up on coenen, sort of. she kinda screwed the pooch but i take responsibility for my own bets. loved my prices, w/e.

Yeah Big Jon seemed emotional and him f bombing and getting excited isnt professional or helpful as what a ref needs to do.

Ref needs to stay cool and keep the fight on course

he does it all the time. like we're there to watch him.

also, this may be unpopular, but i can't stand it when they do anything like he did in rd 1. yea, the action sucked, but let them fight. you're just there for their safety. f off. if the crowd boos that's their problem. both guys clearly wanted to counter or w/e, and it could've made one of them throw something ill-advised and get ko'd.

i hate it on the ground, too, when they warn them about standups. it influences the action. just stand them up if they're not doing enough. their warning is implied.

First off, fucking pat Curran can lick my balls. what a flake. lands a left hook from hell on Georgi then proceeds to lay on him for the next 2+mins. Itd line at +400, if he tries to land a couple good shots on the ground then forces Georgi to stand up he's probably done. then he he decides to grapple for the better part of the next two rds with a guy who's never been subbed. lol, fuck man. Thought I had it but that's what I get for assuming Pat Curran isn't gonna flake out and do something stupid and under perform. That had me gotten to.

Carvalho fight was terrible but I agree with EZ that I hate when refs jump in and try to make people fight. There's so many shit fights with people staring at each other and doing nothing, it happens, you can't force them to be exciting. It's not the ref's job to do that shit. It happened in Maynard/Guida too, yeah Clay was running but let him run and let the judges decide to punish him for it not the refs.

God what a terrible fight that was, especially Carvalho's performance. Glad he won but it's like he didn't even care at points. Like he was afraid of Melvin. Maybe he hurt himself, I don't know.

Anyway this was a really shitty card even for Bellator. Not a good night for me to say the least. Fucking Andy Dufresne and Pat "dandruff" Curran really screwed me. Lucky I got away with Carvalho though, so not a complete disaster I guess.

I was unclear on what happened in r1 was he just telling them to fight?

yeah he basically warned them for inactivity. It's especially weird when you're warning both guys though, what is he gonna do take a pt from both guys? won't affect the scoring in either guy's favor.

I feel lucky to get away with only a 1.12 unit loss after going heavy on Coenen and lucking out with Melvin getting robbed in the title fight.

I was on Held and Carvalho small, but had Coenen in a big parlay so I lost more than I won.

feel very lucky, I played carvalho for line movement, and was going to buy out of most of my bet on him after I watched a few of his fights last night, but in the end my alarm at 2.30 a.m failed to awake me for the event haha.
I thought he looked a bit flaky in previous fights, seems like definite fade material now though.
