Bellator MMA to Showtime

Same experience here. Subscribed when they got Bellator and paid $10/month the whole time. Its wasnt the best service, as the player was terrible at seeking. Want to rewatch a KO? Just wait for the replay as it will take longer to go back 30s. But it was tolerable and it was nice to have the decent boxing matches. As soon as it was confirmed Bellator was gone I canceled. Will be signing up for showtime in a couple weeks (the Bellator fights are still over a month away). And as long as there is at least ONE decent card a month I will be happy at $10/month.
For some reason, my account has stayed at $10.99 monthly. And, if you spend a little extra for a decent VPN, you get the best bang for your buck, by far.

Bellator really doesnt care bout Canadian fans, cant get access to anything on there website and no cable deal
Yep, they promised to come back in 2019 and I am still waiting as I never went to the Casino Rama or Windsor events so I go down to Mohegan Sun when they are there.

They need to change the fucjing name bellator is played out now everyone hates bellator

Strikeforce was good and at one point I liked more then UFC I don't think there will ever be other strikeforce sadly

i know it's probably no chance they would change it but Showtime mma does sound alot better than Bellator.

Its too late to change the name, they kind of have to roll with the punches now. But I agree, Bellator is a horrible name for an MMA promotion. WFA was good name for a promotion, IMO.

yeah, i know. what was Rebney thinking?

It means warrior in Latin. Which is why the logo is what it is. Rebney being a lawyer, which has latin roots in law is probably what made him choose that name initially.

I don't know, there has been a lot of questionable MMA org names over the years and still to this day. I'm sure some people don't like the UFC's name either. Give us a great a product I could careless for the most part.

strikeforce did kinda destroy the ufc

Rousy blew up WMMA
DC became a double champ
rockhold became champ
cyborg became champ
Lawler became champ
Woodley became champ
werdum became champ
Nick diaz fought for the belt
Hendo fought for the belt
Jacare fought for the belt
Jake shields fought for the belt
Overeem fought for the belt
OSP fought for the belt

other solid guys like moose, gill melendez, Josh thompson, Arlovski

Strikeforce was lit

Coker has never had a problem finding/building talent or securing talent(free agents). Coker's problem has always been he doesn't know what to do once he has all these fighters. All to often his answer to everything is a tournament and everything else kind of gets overlooked. Great at talent relations portion of the business, but needs a lot of work as the operator of the business. To this day he hasn't seemed to learn the later.

I think a tandem with Espinoza will do wonders for Bellator.

right, to quote Mauro "place where warriors rule" smh. i didn't know he was a lawyer though. but still it's a terrible name unless you're starting a all-lawyers fight club.

i agree but there was good ones too. Strikeforce is a great name for a fight promotion, World Series of Fighting was not bad, Fight Nights over here and others... having a right name in never bad for business.

I sure hope so, the the talent they have can make for great cards throughout the year for us fans. Much better than we been getting that is for sure.

Plus Espinoza will be watching over Coker/Bellator a lot closer than he/they has ever been watched under the Viacom umbrella. If he isn't performing Espinoza has the authority and will make changes if need be.

If they ever made a change the first guy i would call although it would be a long shot to leave the 76ers front office is Dave Sholler

I believe Espinoza was the guy behind the scenes pushing for this latest prospect signing surge
Espinoza is pretty much Coker's boss, right? He is the head of ShoSports, which Bellator is part of?

Yes he is. He is the President of sports division for Showtime. I believe Nevins(President of Showtime) maybe the only one with any say in anything Espinoza does or wants to do but I won't be surprised if he has no say in what Espinoza does. So in the end Espinoza runs the shows when it comes to sports on Showtime.

This is really giving Bellator a legit shot at growth in this 2021. Lets hope COVID doesnt fuck shit up for the upcoming cards. They still have a couple of things to improve on, like marketing, have rankings, and announcing fights with more time. But this 2021 can give them a legit opportunity to grow and become more established.
