calf kicks

I don't know why people are complaining about it now it's been around for ages

plus it's not like a perfect technique that is impossible to check

every once and a while a technique comes around that stumps everyone. started with royce and has re-iterated itself many times over. it's why would we love mma

You're right, the sport has to constantly evolve.

The next generation of fighters will look like this:

It’s not like checking a regular low kick at all. What are you going to spin around take it in the shin mand just get blasted by your vulnerability. Of twisting.

if any fighter isn’t using this kick constantly. And learning how basic stance switch to use this now we’re going to see this a ton more and we’re already seeing it in pretty much every fight. And the damage it does.
It’s pretty fuxking crazy.
And throwing any other low kick. It’s unecessary. There is not risk from hurting yourself from throwing it and it just ruins fighters.

sure everything has been around forever. But everyone and there momma sees how effective and how it just takes a few to alter a fight.

so why is nobody ever successfully checking it. Other than literally trying to jump over it.

I’m not saying it’ should be illegal or anything. But it’s a son of a bitch to avoid. Or block. Counter defend. As you can keep your distance and don’t risk getting hurt off turning a knee in to check. You can just throw the bell out of it especially if the guy isn’t a great wrestler.

I've had a couple mma fights, trained bjj for years, and fought in kickboxing a bunch. I can confirm as an amateur that calf-kicks are a problem. It's not that they didn't exist, it's that now people are spamming/commiting to them in pro settings. It changed the game

Pretty much all of this. Leg kicks on the thigh are pretty easy to just turn your knee but it doesn’t work on calf kicks. Even if you try to counter with straights, if that kick lands first, it pretty much takes away all the power from the punch. Shit gets real tricky.

It will be solved just like the mid 2000’s of the clinch / dirty boxer tactic of leaning on someone was the craze

We’re going to see brawls kind of like Frye vs tayama. Or that bloodpsort scene when there blasting body kicks back and forth. Calf
Kicks. calf kick. Calf kick calf kick.

If guys dont wanna get calf kicked they should learn to wrestle. Otherwise tough.

GOATLovski was 5 steps ahead of everyone else when he used the IFS.

I believe fights like this, and some early Saku double punches are the inspiration of the Interlocking Fish Smash.

However!

@superpunch had the genius idea of “On the ground, you could definitely lock your hands together and smash someone with the mass of both fists/arms combined.135lb guys would be smashing with the mass of Brock Lesnar and the fists of Shane Carwin.”

The implementation of locking the hands together results in 135 lb guys smashing with the mass of Lesnar and the fists of Carwin

what does that mean for fighters in higher weight classes than 135lbs? What if HW fighter utilize this technique? It may end the ufc due to fatalities. The future will tell us the truth.

There is no such thing as calf " the speciality". The calf kicks are extremely easy to check. The reason why they work is because the bad, very wide stance with a wight on the front leg. Another thing is that they are easier to throw because you don't need as good technique that you need for thigh kicks where you have a higher chance of getting hit by a good counter striker as you need to be a little closer as well as ending up back to your opponent when you miss and spin arround.

What if we outlawed cups and allowed kicks to the balls? Wouldn't that be an awesome addition to two men fighting?
