News Chinese authorities question MMA fighter Xu Xiaodong over Hong Kong protest comments

Xu is known for beating the shit out of various self proclaimed Kung Fu and wing chun "martial artists"

Now the Chinese govt make his life miserable by censoring him , shutting down his social media accounts and restricting his travel.

Xu previously had his social credit score lowered to heavily restricted “D” status in China following a court order. As a result, Xu was not allowed to buy plane tickets or high-speed train tickets, among other restrictions.

thanks, tencent.

(in case anyone's not aware, tencent is a gigantic chinese conglomerate that's heavily involved in tech/gaming and has been buying video games/game studios/licensing rights. they also were one of the few companies responsible [and perhaps most of all] for the creation of the social credit monstrosity)

Yes, fun to watch.

The Chinese courts also made him pay $80,000 and apologize everyday for 7 days for calling out some Wing Chun master as a "fake/ fraudster".

Communist China. Tbh he's lucky he's not been taken away yet for a re-education.

It's a lot more than being banned from buying plane tickets, he can't travel at all, can't hold certain jobs, his kids can't go to good schools and he can't own property or rent a nice apartment. His whole family will have their "social credit" lowered too. While tons of people abroad have delighted and taunted Americans over the prospect as China as the future world superpower overtaking multicultural America. Not realizing the kind of society they are ignoring.

Guy has more guts than any other fighter.

are we really calling Xu Xiaodong an MMA fighter now? he's a gym bully.

but yes, the Chinese authorities have put severe restrictions on him following the whole scandal with his fight against the Taichi master.

make sure to check out The Athletic next week for more on Xu and Chinese MMA before UFC Shenzhen.
