Dimes suspending service to US market

I'm not sure where you're getting this information but as a swede, this is news to me.

my friend has dual citizenship with Sweden, speaks fluently, and told me they chose not to lockdown to achieve herd immunity. Israel also did this,

Eh, not exactly with regards to Israel.

Israel is actually kind of a police state; there are no bill of rights there, and police (who are very left-wing in terms of their behavior/outlook) are free to arrest citizens for no reason at all, keep them indefinitely, and beat and torture them if they so chose. All with little to no recourse. Unlike the US, EVERYONE fucking hates the police in Israel. The number one television show in Israel right now is a thriller about how everyone at every level of the police is a corrupt, amoral scumbag.

To that end, Israel's police was arresting and harassing people for not wearing masks or following protocol very, very early on, in March and April. Fines for masks were enforced early on. And they absolutely did lock down, including schools. They even suspended all activities during Passover, the holiest week for Jews, as this ZeroHedge article helpfully points out.

That being said, they eventually stopped fining people for not wearing masks with the exception of the ultra-orthodox, who Israeli police just love harassing. (Believe it or not, there is a lot of bigotry and hatred from more secular Jews towards ultra-orthodox Jews in Israel)

However, unlike the US, they didn't play the stop/start game; once lockdown restrictions were lifted, they stayed lifted.

Israel isn't as successful as Sweden when it comes to stemming the spread of the commie cough, but scientists anticipate they will achieve herd immunity in a few weeks. (Sweden achieved herd immunity like 2 months ago, by contrast)

Dimes can suck my dick. Requested a refund 8 days ago on a futures bet that I don’t want to cancel and it still hasn’t been refunded. Support can’t even assure me it will be refunded in time for me to get the money off the site. These fucktards get to collect on losing futures before they would otherwise be graded AND void all futures w any chance of winning. They also won’t allow me to transfer my roll to another book and I’m nervous about getting my money off the site. Whole thing is such fucking bullshit. I’m sure the super exciting forthcoming “opportunity to enjoy an improved online betting experience” will be a huge hit after this shitshow.

hell yeah, appreciate the well written response Paul. I got some more research to do apparently.

Which part is news? The not locking down, or the herd immunity?

The part about schools not being closed which is only partially true, high schools and universities were closed down. But mostly what you said about herd immunity. If this had been confirmed in any sort of remotely reliable way I think our government would have been shouting this at the top of their lungs 24/7...There has been some speculation that Stockholm might have achieved herd immunity, but this has NOT been confirmed.

If anyone is waiting for a Bitcoin payout from 5dimes, be patient. I requested to withdraw my total balance on 9/8 and finally received it this morning.

The website said it would be completed within 48 hours at the time and support told me 96 hours when I contacted them after not receiving it within that time frame.

I would suggest that people request their payouts sooner rather than later though. I imagine they are going to get bombarded with payout requests right before the deadline.

Big mistake. I wish you had talked to me or others before doing this, dude.

Coinbase is not only heavily compromised (the IRS requested and received records from them), but even worse, they are completely anti-gambling. They will close down your account if you send or receive money from sportsbooks. Hopefully, you still get the money through, but they are a Bitcoin client to avoid.
Hmmm.... had no issues with them personally and gambling transactions is pretty much all I use it for.

@PolarBearPaulVarelans is correct. I looked into this earlier only bc of his warning and discovered i was clueless.

Unsurprisingly, Coinbase’s TOS mandate that anything illegal is a violation, but it also expressly identifies “gambling” as a prohibited use, which is defined very broadly:

Gambling: Lotteries; bidding fee auctions; sports forecasting or odds making; fantasy sports leagues with cash prizes; internet gaming; contests; sweepstakes; games of chance.

If Coinbase determines (in its sole discretion) that a prohibited use violation has occurred, it can ostensibly do whatever it wants, including wout limitation blocking transactions, freezing funds and canceling the user’s account. I didn’t even bother to research the shit about the IRS.

this will be my fourth day since requesting payout waiting for phone confirmation...

why specifically a hard wallet? anything wrong with using a blockchain.com wallet?

I mean if you have .2 BTC, of course not. If you have more than 5pct of your net worth in BTC, you should have a hard wallet. Blockchain wallets have been compromised countless times in the past and, as stated above, coinbase can literally freeze your funds anytime they want though its rare to hear about. Hackers are also a real thing so logging onto a blockchain wallet to find all of your BTC gone is something I wouldn't want to encounter.

betonline has props but they always come late, decent lines though, the least juice you can find. Another problem is that they don't allow parlays for mma. I would still open an account on betonline since they have lines out as one of the first and the juice is limited.
I wonder why no one has mentioned BookMaker?

@PuertoRican @Everygoodnametook Hey guys - I recently pulled money out of 5D and have it in my hard wallet on my computer (Electrum). How do I go about turning that into cash, via the CashApp? I've never done it before so any guidance would be helpful.

I'm hesitant having never done this before and I don't want to lose my money. I had planned on doing it via Coinbase, but they won't even let me send money I have on there to my personal wallet, so I'm not trusting them to cash me out.
Thanks!

How long did it take for you to get the verification email after you requested the payout? How long after the verification did it take for your to get your $?

Whoops. Missing a key word - *will* have it in my hard wallet.

I ran into some hiccups and sort of self sabotaged a little so I'm back in the waiting phase. Essentially, I was transferring money around and the wallet address I submitted changed on the wallet so I panicked and thought I couldn't receive BTC at that address anymore so I quickly cancelled and resubmitted my request with the new address.

However, I did submit originally about a week and a half ago. They neglected to tell me I had to phone verify, which I eventually did last Friday, and I received the email confirmation yesterday (but, as I mentioned, it's for naught at this point because I submitted a new request).

So, all in all, about a week from phone verification. It might have gone a little quicker if I knew I was required to phone verify sooner (I waited about 4 or 5 days).

Yeah, CashApp is the way to go when it comes to depositing/withdrawing from 5dimes and BetAnySports (BAS - exact copy of 5dimes, which I use now).

Thanks to @LEMONZEST for telling me about CashApp. I used to deposit via Western Union and Money Gram.

No problem. I will also try to convince anyone that will listen about bitcoin. Crypto is the future and I specifically only back BTC at the moment. Get in while you can.
