US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said her department needs more money to stop China from catching up on cutting-edge semiconductors.
She took on Nvidia an Intel for trying to work around government regulations. Especially Nvidia that the CEO said China business is needed an TSMC has a decade lead.
She knows that is BS an TSMC an Intel like those Chinese billions. Gina who was once thanked by Trump for blocking New Yorkers commuting to RI during COVID.
She is now seeking to put the brakes on big technology companies trying to work around these efforts.
Where it gets complicated is she is seeking more then 200 million towards this effort. 200 million is her current budget an said not nearly enough vs trillion dollar efforts by China.
