I don't think its enough to force a recall, I have Newsom safe and sound as Governor of California, but Cali has a large Latino population and this is could be concerning.

More recently, the last Inside California Politics/Emerson College poll in mid July had Newsom ahead of the vote to recall 48% to 43% with 9% of voters undecided.

Newsom has lost support from a majority of Latino voters, with 54% of those respondents said they would vote “Yes” on the recall. They are the only racial group responding in favor of the recall, with the majority of Black respondents and Asian respondents in favor of keeping Newsom.

Even more worrisome for the governor is that his support among Latinos is eroding. In a March poll from Probolsky Research, 44.5% of Latino voters planned to vote “Yes” and oust him. That’s compared to 41.4% of the group who indicated they would vote “No.” About 40% of the state’s population identifies as Hispanic or Latino, according to U.S. Census data.

Newsom barnstormed the state in the weeks after those March numbers came out, making frequent stops in the Central Valley, at Dodger Stadium — home to a fervent Latino fan base — and even at a vaccination clinic for farmworkers in the Coachella Valley.

One place Newsom has not lost support is among showbiz types. He kept the industry working throughout the pandemic, which was no small thing to studios and networks — and the California economy.

The Motion Picture Association donated $10,000 to Stop the Republican Recall in July, the committee set up to collect unlimited amounts to fight the effort to oust the governor. Also donating was MPA chairman Charles Rivkin, with a $5,000 contribution; Paramount Pictures, with $40,000; and, in the largest single donation of them all, Netflix’s Reed Hastings, who gave $3 million in May. Other individual donors have included Jon Feltheimer, Steven Spielberg, Dana Walden and many more.

In the newest poll, white respondents were split at 48% in favor of recalling Newsom and 49% in favor of keeping him.

While I don't care one way or the other, wait until they vote in a republican and see how that goes for them. Good luck!

Cali won't have to worry about wildfires for awhile due to moisture saturation from the abundance of progressive/liberal tears?

Newsom is a typical politician. The less of his type we have in any state, the better.

It would be real healthy for California to have a real fiscal Conservative as a governor, just to give the people a taste of fiscal sanity. Larry Elder is that guy.

Hispanics, just like the rest of us, can see the total degradation of our state under Democratic Party rule.

The only thing newsom has going for him is no one stands out as a better alternative. Larry Elder seems too extreme and Kevin Faulconer is too much of an unknown to those outside SD. With that said I would rather have either of them in office over this asshole.

Elder is extreme? The guy is a fiscal Conservative and Social Libertarian. That's pretty balanced. Then again, I am biased as I 100% am in line with Larry and have been for about 25 years when I first hear him on the radio in SoCal.

Doesn't matter. Who controls the votes matters.

True story. They announced they are mailing out unrequested Mail In Ballots to everyone. There will be drop boxes, vote harvesting, and little signature verification. Don't even think of being an Observer to see that it is done fair.

I will be shocked if Elder is able to take the seat.

suggesting a zero dollar minimum wage sounds pretty extreme. I can understand where hes coming from but the way he presented it immediately would turn off a lot of voters. I dont think hes necessarily right either. There does need to be some sort of minimum you can pay someone.

He wants to abolish corporate taxes, the minimum wage, and welfare. That's highly extreme. You're also talking about a state that voted for Bernie Sanders.

Sadly, I think you may be right. It no longer matters who votes.

Newsome, the guy has one of those noses that just screams “give me a cross-face” (wrestling/grappling term). So does Faucci.

So, highly unlikely that asshole gets unseated. I know there are special recall rules when it comes to elections where he doesnt have to necessarily win all the votes but he rubs shoulders with the people that will keep him in power.

Didnt he invite the worlds homeless population to come to California? Prob after he heard he was losing latino support so he went to his next source of votes.

The guy espousing this is considered "reasonable" and "balanced" by today's republicans. That's really all you need to know to see the fully radicalized state of the American right.
