Violence/Genocide: Do not condone violence or genocide on a person or group of people. You are free to attack a person or groups ideas but you are crossing the line when calling for violence. This will be heavily enforced in threads with breaking news involving victims.

Alcohol and planes don't mix especially when you crowd people in like cattle. Too many examples of drunks ruining it for everyone.

Do All Flights Have an Air Marshal?

No. In the United States., less than 1% of flights have an air marshal. With approximately 44,000 commercial flights operating every day across the U.S., it’s impossible for the Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) to place an air marshal on every flight.

So how does FAMS decide which flights to assign an air marshal to? They use risk assessment software that analyzes the probability of threat based on the aircraft, departure city, flight path, destination cities, and the amount of fuel onboard.

So what do you think would be a lawful way to restrain him to protect the flight crew and the other passengers?

Even if they have cuffs they would have to have at least two sets and they would do more damage then the tape.

I remember a time when only upper middle class and those with greater HHI could fly. Those were the days.

now any trash person with sweat pants and an attitude can hop on a cheap flight.

Should've taped the punk to the outside of the plane.

There should be security on the plane for one. Security with the proper authority and equipment to secure such individuals. That's how I believe it should be handled. This whole free for all thing, seems a little...off. I mean, where is the line? Is there one? Could the staff just stomp his ass out? Are there any rules at all, if there is no designated security with strict protocols to follow?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not arguing on the idiot's behalf, and it's funny that he got what was coming to him. I'm more curious about the legality of it all. On it's face, it seems a bit sketchy.

Self defense appropriate to the level of assault. He would lose.

Once again, here you are, demonstrating your inability to read a joke without getting your jimmies rustled.

Umm....let's back this up a little here. The 'rules' about the handling dangerous and disruptive passengers on a plane are intentionally broad and vague, precisely because every instance is unique. Show me the specific rule about violent passenger confinement that the duct taping violated, and perhaps we might have something to discuss.

To be fair, thats the kind of message you post unironicly in many other threads.

Good for you if you have reached the stage when you are joking about it, next step is moving on from thoughts like that :D

I don't care what's lawful when someone like that has the potential to kill an entire airline full of people.

I write them, have you read them? Can you point to some where I unironically call for something like an increased drinking age?

I know what I write and when I'm serious and when I'm not.

It seems like you have a pretty incredible deficiency in that department based on me unfortunately having you reply to my posts.
