Wrong. Kick boxing made rules requiring people to kick, because mid tier boxers were moving over and winning titles. Kicking isn't as effective against boxers that know how to move.

I feel as if this isn't entirely true but I'm no expert on KB so I figured I'd ask you guys.
 
He is talking about PKA, an American form of kickboxing that is dead as a pro sport except for in some European countries. Today when people say KB they almost always mean lowkick/K-1 rules. World champions in boxing have tried K-1 and not had much success. Conversely so many kickboxers have become boxing world champions I cant count them all. Though of course this has a lot to do with money.
