Prime Rich didnt have the technical ability to fight against today’s guys. Yes Silva’s Muay Thai is far greater than most mma fighters ever. That doesn’t change the fact that Franklin was completely clueless on how to defend the clinch. Its not like Silva just did that to everyone and no one could defend it. Now if prime rich with his ability, toughness, and athleticism trained at a top mma gym today then yeah of course he’d be able to do well. That wasn’t the question though.

He also fought a Muay Thai specialist in Wand who very well knows Anderson by the way and couldn't replicate what Spider did.
Okami and Henderson were very good clinch fighters and Franklin handled them just fine.

Who are these "modern" Thai clinch specialists in today UFC MW? Cut the BS.

The same Franklin who fought Henderson, Wand, Okami or Hammil would be a tough fight for most MWs today, doesn't matter how much you want to revolv around Anderson Silva putting a masterful display.

You seem to be getting a little too heated over something that is essentially both our opinions on a hypothetical scenario. None of what you’re saying makes me think prime rich is technically capable of dealing with today’s fighters. You apparently think so. Its okay man we dont have to agree.

You don't need so many word to say what we already knew.
Its about bringing any point besides "look what Anderson did to him on clinch" or not. You don't, it's ok

Basically just a striker who would be outgunned by everyone fighting today

One of the most uneducated comments I've seen in awhile.

It doesnt matter WHO put him in the clinch. He did not know what to do. Just like Rampage didnt know what to do when Shogun or Wandy put him in it.

He tried to just back out of it which just made it worse. With a look of absolute fear on his face.

Yeah Wanderlei didnt take a Muay Thai lesson in his life. He saw the same weaknesses you pretend is so easy to exploit and wasnt able to do so, but any Dana White contender series jobber would get it done

He wasn't that good, but he'd probably hang around because he was a disciplined, dedicated guy.

His short title reign was absolutely dominate he would have been champ a little while longer had it not been for Silva. Given modern training I think he would adapt well and would give Izzy a tougher fight than he did Silva.
