He played it too safe after WEC ended, became a boring fighter

I agree, became formulaic with his strategy. Probably had some knee injury that prevented his kicks like he used to. He still has his legendary TDD, even against Merab it was masterclass, he just can get gun shy and not pour on his offense like he used to. I started watching him before he even got the WEC title.

I never really see him hyped up as some knockout artist.

It's because you don't live in Brazil, they even made a horrible biopic about him

I agree, his TDD was really top-notch. Another guy that has excellent TDD and few people talk about it is Junior dos Santos, he was only taken down by Cain after he was battered on the feet
