Is it better to have a bendy nose?

Is a nose with a lot of give and flexibility at the tip less likely to break?
Rather than a pointy nose?

I'm getting a septoplasty and the surgeon wants to add cartilage to my nose tip to add support. But I reckon it would break easier than my current flexible nose.

I have a straight nose that's pretty pointy, but the cartilage is natural. It's never given me a problem. Wrestling, BJJ, regular bumps and bruises of playing as a kid... it held up fine. The cartilage bends a lot.

I'm not sure how that applies to having it surgically placed. Maybe tell your doctor your concerns and ask what they think.

Yeah I think cartilage from surgery would make the nose tip hard

So like when I get punched on the nose tip now, it flattens so I guess that's less likely to break than a hard nose tip

Or shoulder pressure on the nose during grappling, my nose just flattens

It’s the cartilage that breaks, add more break more
