Joe Rogan is an opportunist lucky mofo

Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. Joe works his ass off. Dude is a shit comedian but I respect the dude's grind. He earned what he has. What he lacks as a stand up he makes up as the best since Howard Stern in the talk format.

He's the ultimate opportunist. Pretty much became rich by interviewing increasingly famous people and asking doctors about the bro science questions that we all wanna hear. Doesn't have any special talents apart from taekwondo, MMA commentating and being very relateable for regular people. When I first saw him talking about shrooms and DMT in 2012 I would've never imagined he'd become what he is today lol.

Not hatin on him though. Good for him!

now he is rich as fuck because of mma and he is seen as one of the most if not most legit mma specialist

what a life, the amrican dream ! Well done Joe !
By "literally no mma interest" I guess you're ignoring the "multiple" and "mixed" martial arts he grew up competing in?

<WhatIsThis>

Rogan started training BJJ in 1996 and has a background in kickboxing. He didn't even get paid when he started working for the UFC in the dark era, he was just doing it because he loved the sport.

He started working for the UFC in 1997 and started doing color commentary in 2002. Mix his background in Taekwondo with his 6 years of BJJ experience with his background in acting and stand up comedy and you have a guy that has real world experience in both grappling, striking, and public speaking.

He was also well known from one of the most popular shows (Fear Factor) on television at that time. If any thing the UFC was lucky to have him as they were struggling to be taken seriously. Rogan being a part of the team gave them some much needed legitimacy.

Great points, and I whole-heartedly agree with the sentiment, but I'd just tweak the adage, as luck often has nothing to do with preparation. . .although preparation always helps. There are people who get "blindly" lucky. Rogan wasn't one of them, as TS is implying. Rather, like you're saying, he had the background and the work ethic/preparation, so we shouldn't be surprised that he caught the wave.

Everything in your post is wrong.
He's rich because of acting and fear factor gave him the freedom to pursue standup and he stumbled into podcasting at the perfect time. He was a taekwondo champ and instructor before the UFC events.

And he has legitimate MMA knowledge, having trained bjj for years.

I mean I think there are better commentary guys but your post is trash.

He must make things right and he can start by giving away all his wealth and living in a monastery first the next 20 years.

Of all the jealous Sherdoggers that want to be Joe Rogan, this guy might be the worst ever. Seriously, these children just keep getting saltier and saltier. WTF kind of person would post something so stupid?
"How come no one will knock on my door and give me what they gave joe,i coulda done that. Some guys get all the luck!"

Yeah, Joe Rogan never competed in full contact tournaments long before his career with the UFC... oh wait... He's always been into martial arts. Don't talk about shit you know nothing about... Is his Podcast kind of meh? Yes... Am I kind of over his commentary? Kind of... but at the end of the day he's been a life time martial artist and is actually very knowledgeable about it.

Dont gobbel Joe’s kool-aid. He mentions kickboxing as something he tried, but he does not have a kickboxing background. He never even fought a match. I think he was interested and began some training and realized he couldnt do it.

There is a huge leap from doing TKD tournaments and karate point tournaments to crossing over to full-contact kickboxing, whether it be North American rules, International rules, or Muay Thai rules, at least in amateur competition.
Wheres Joe’s ammy kickboxing record located?

I never claimed that he was some kickboxing world beater, but even if he only did a handful of smokers my point still stands, which was that he knew what he was looking at and was more than qualified to do his job.

Edit: Joe had an amateur record of 2-1 in kickboxing.

He used to go to the events before he was commentating. He loved the sport and had a background in martial arts. He was a comic and TV personality from Fear Factor. He helped give the sport legitimacy coming from NBC.

you sure he’s a BJJ black belt? First time I’ve heard that
actually ....not 100% sure on that. I'm pretty sure he is, but ....let me do a bit of digging.

EDIT : Yes he is, since 2012 :
