Just curious, did anyone profit from betting over time?

So MMA is pretty unpredictable sports. I see here and there sometimes people posting their bet slips winning big, but I'm wondering if any one of you won money over time betting on MMA, and if so how much over how many months/years?

I think most of the people on here that are pre-posting their slips are winning over the long term. The people losing are those who don't bet logically and talk shit about how bad bets are after a fight without actually having posted their own.

MMA is a great sport to bet on because odds swing all over the place and opening lines are often set very badly . The major sports don't have that.

I have but i wont say how much lets just say it has been good enough, not crazy or anything. To think on my first win in MMA/UFC i won just 750$ then that grew.

I have taken a few fight cards off as a break. If you dont feel like betting or playing on FanDuel or such similar sites or on betting sites don't push yourselves. Again if you feel strongly about a fight card bet on it. don't if you don't.

For betting i usually avoid NFL and NBA they are more difficult in general. I admire anyone who does it well from those sports.

They'll get the balance up to $500, but they continue to bet the full amount. I used to cash out quite often so I actually see the winnings. Nowadays, I only do large cash outs so I just maintain a certain amount that I don't touch. I think the biggest mistake people make is they don't cash out ever and have an all or nothing mindset. It's a classic degenerate gambler mindset that will result in losing all of your winnings eventually.

They are a couple of posters here that are massively succesful. They also invest a lot of time into it.
I'll say this though: it does not look easy. All my underdog bets have crashed. All my favourite bets have won, this indicates to me that I should really focus on favourites, but the house's cut is embedded in those odds, so that in the long run I assume that I have my account converge towards zero.

I started this year with $50 in account and swore I wouldn't put more down. Year is almost up and I currently have $480 in the account, $25 in pending bets, $545 being my high point. Im starting to take it much more serious. Ive been really successful at calling under dogs and mixing it with big favorites. Recently Ive called Whittaker, Glover, Arlovski, Jan by KO and another few recent ones I cant quite remember. The way ive been doing it bank roll is super important. I need to start betting on the favorites more I believe.

My advice, there is good money on heavy weight underdogs, bet against hype machines and bet on the underdog in the prelims if both fighters are green.

Most recent odds I thought that was off for MMA would of been Anthony Smith at 1.7. I had a lot of parlays and got everything else wrong unfortunately. Smith pulled through.

I normally bet anywhere from $100-$300 per event. I cash out $1000.00 pretty much anytime my account reaches around $1300-$1500. I haven't really tracked results for a long time. Probably around 15-20% ROI is my guess. Most events are small wins but I have a few big ones. I hit every single bet at UFC 255 besides one small one on Lipski (horrible bet) which was a really big return. I've actually only had one losing week (last week) since 5dimes shut down. The latter half of this year would have been great if I didn't bet DWCS and Bellator. The UFC events were often recovering losses on those.

This is mostly true. I have bet too much on a few guys that were heavily promoted here (ie, Ghokan Saki) plus lost a few split decisions. I have won some underdogs and lots of favorite and still lost money over time. But I also don't live bet. The bottom line is gambling is a profitable business for the house. If it wasn't they wouldn't exist, gambling companies wouldn't have stock that's traded on the stock exchanges, and tribes wouldn't be opening casinos constantly. It's easy to think that most bettors are just squares that are betting on their favorite team, or their hometown team, or betting on a female fighter because she is hot and that's where the house makes all their money, but I don't think that's as true as we want to think. A lot of sharp bettors lose money in the long run too. I was talking with a cab driver in Vegas who said there are very few "professional" gamblers, or at least professionals that last very long. There are just some that are better than others and some that get lucky. Also remember that if you are very good long term then the bookies will place limits on your bet size which limits your profits. I wanted to be good at picking underdogs, and I can sometimes, but for the most part the lines are set correctly for the house to make a profit and finding that "hidden" underdog is pretty hard. Right now I have traded sports betting for investing in the US stock market. That's risky too but long term should be profitable.

Ya he very rarely ever loses I cant recall the last time he lost an event. And he shows proof of his bets as well whenever clowns want to call him out. Alot of people on here will claim I bet 500$ on this or 200$ on this or somethign along those line but never once shows proof. I am not saying they are all Lieing but Sadicists will show any bet slip you dont believe, He also gets amazingly good lines
