Hello Sherdog music lovers!
Can You recommend me some Beatlesque bands, artists and songs?

Whether it sounds like the rocking early Beatles, the stoner middle Beatles, the acid tripping late Beatles or even just vaguely Beatlesy - I'd love to check it out.

Jellyfish
Cheap Trick
Enuff Z’Nuff
Kings X
The Claypool Lennon Delirium
Latter period XTC, and their 60s flavoured side project, The Dukes Of Stratosfear

First 2 Tame Impala LPs and Unknown Mortal Orchestra have loads of Lennon vibes floating around - speaking of bands from the last decade.

Some tunes that come to my mind

Radiohead is probably the most Beatles-esque band of the past 30 years, other than the obvious Oasis.

Check out Summer Salt. They are similar to the Beatles. More modern, but similar.

Elvis Costello & the Attractions - Imperial Bedroom. Produced by Geoff Emerick who was the engineer on late period Beatles records. Has similar baroque strings and creative arrangements of the type used by George Martin and may be the peak period of Elvis' wrtiting and his band's creativity.

Electric Light Orchestra - Out of the Blue. John Lennon said if you want to hear what the Beatles would have sounded like if they had stayed together listen to this album.

Well you have crowded house , they have often been compared with the Beatles , mostly because of they melodic tunes , they were very popular and had have many hits but if by any chance you are not familiar with them check them on youtube..

this was not a big hit maybe but a totally Beatles influenced song from them..

And you got a bunch of beatlesque popular songs , always this one comes to mind

Also a very cool one that I like is Life is real (song for Lennon) by queen, Freddy Mercury wrote and sang it the style of Lennon so its a great mixture of queen and the beatles. Don't know if you heard it since is not the most popular queen song ( but is a great song)

And of course ....Julian Lennon

Thanks man. Took me a while but I gave each a thorough listen. Unfortunately the only album I liked was "Dream Police" by Cheap Trick.

The rest was just not up my alley. I've seen XTC mentioned as Beatlesque quite often but something about them just rubs me the wrong way. The Dukes of Stratosphear were a bit too wild, so was the Claypool Lennon Delirium. Jellyfish was ok. Rest was meh.

From Wiki:

The song incorporates a number of musical styles and recording techniques, with a number of reviewers considering it a pastiche of the Beatles, produced in a style reminiscent of their late 1960s output.

Blur does Beatles-influenced Brit-pop proud, with an intelligent, tender vive to it:

Check out Sloan. IMO the best powerpop band of the last 20-30 years.

Like the Beatles, they have 4 very distinct song writers / singers. In concert they take turns fronting the band & switching instruments.
