I made my SD account in 2006, but I didn't actually have any BJJ classes until the start of 2009, and that was only 6 months. I didn't train regularly again until Nov 2019. Got like 4 months in before the COVID stuff shut down my gym. I was able to get a few lessons from my instructor leading up to that tourney, but was mostly working with whoever I could get to come out to my place. My instructor moved to AZ instead of reopening his gym here after giving me my first stripe. There's another gym about the same drive, but I've had some other stuff I've needed to do, so I haven't gotten over there. Hoping to start going over there once a week this fall.
