Reverse of thread title. Female singer I always thought was a dude.

I was shocked to learn that was a guy after I got into Svefn-g-Englar from the Vanilla Sky soundtrack.

Great band by the way. Have all of their albums and they make some very climactic stuff...they would be yuge if they spoke English...even more bigly if their singer actually was a chick.

I always thought Geddy Lee was right on the cusp. So maybe he doesn’t sound like a girl but he sounds like a transgender, possibly female-to-male post-op with hormonal therapy for 2.5 years
 
Neil Young sounds like a creepy old lady sometimes, case and point: after the gold rush
 
I know high-pitched vocals are the norm for this subgenre, but I legit thought this was a chick at first lol
