Well no one was saying he'd have to pay millions in criminal fines, but that a guilty plea opens the door for a civil suit, which it does.

First degree assault charges aren't anything to sneeze at. Wouldn't be unreasonable to think that'd end up with probation, or a custodial sentence if he continued to show zero remorse in the courtroom
