Max: Let's Throw Down To A Guy That Could Not See And Had A Broken Nose

His nose was broke and Max viciously poked BOTH. His eyes . Justin was at a big disadvantage juat due to that. I think Max should of got a point taken for second poke.

If they had health bars. Max was at 80% Gaethje was at 10%.

He got baited hard.

Max also did it against a fairly fresh Lamas, and also tried to do it against Dustin after getting his ass beat in a five rounder but neither had any gas left to really throw much heat.

So its not some baiting bullshit, its just something Max occasionally asks to do in the final ten seconds

You need to stop making excuses for that broken nose.
No excuses but it's tough to fight when you can only breath from mouth and both eyes compromised due to illegal pokes.

True Max kicked his ass thorough and the broken nose amwas totally legal an a great kick. But the pokes were bad and to both eyes....... are you saying the pokes had no effect on Gaethje?

Can’t believe you found a way to shit on one of the greatest moments in MMA history

This was the PBP in case you forgot how the fight went down before the eye pokes.

The first strike likely of many comes from Holloway, who jabs the midsection and kicks it with his opposite leg. Holloway scores a clean uppercut, and he meets Gaethje in the middle and cracks him with another uppercut and a strong left hook. Gaethje keeps a solid poker face but he had his bell run in the exchange, and Holloway does not draw himself into a reckless exchange and instead measures with a front kick. Holloway checks another kick and unleashes a left and a stern right hand, and Gaethje chambers and fire a massive right hand that skims past the cheek. Holloway lunges forward with a right hand to the body, and Gaethje stumbles and gets back upright. Holloway high-fives him to make sure he is good to go, and Gaethje is fine. Holloway jabs with his foot, and a spin kick on the nose sends Gaethje flying. As the cage door opens to bring in corners for the middle of the round, Gaethje nearly falls out of the cage itself.

People here aren't giving Holloway full credit for the win, pointing to the broken nose, eye pokes, not meeting in the middle of the cage and slugging it out with JG in first 2 rounds.

Honestly, had they slugged it out from the beginning, Max would have probably cracked him far sooner.

Eye pokes as an excuse can make sense, generally speaking. But the broken nose is literary points scored by Max

There is always an element of danger. Think Barry/Kongo or Robbie/Manhoef.

I am actually more impressed with Ngannou windmilling Rosenstreuk who was fresh and experienced in kickboxing.
Yeah I guess there’s technically always some chance however small, but this fight stood apart from your two examples based on how gassed Justin was.

Dusing the last minute or so I really got the feeling Justin was in a similar spot to Rory in the second Lawler fight; he basically had enough energy to hold it together and that’s about it. As soon as he started swinging in those last 10 seconds you could see that his punches were incredibly labored, he was doing that thing you do when your arms are noodles but you’re still trying to punch so you end up just sort of throwing your arm forward with your shoulder. They were slow, very telegraphed, and didn’t look like they had any real power behind them.

Robbie could barely stand on his feet after taking dozens of low kicks. It looked like he was dancing after each kick and his teammates had to hold him afterwards.

Yeah but he wasn’t tired and still had power. Granted that was an incredible knockout but they had fought for what, half a round at that point? Looks like 3:33 after looking it up, and it also looks like he ate 8 total leg kicks in that time.
