The Taliban of the 90's were straight-up medieval. Today they seem slightly more adjusted to the modern world, but only relatively speaking.

I think they want the legitimacy that comes with being recognized as the government of Afghanistsn that they didn't have before.

I don't blame them. Very different reasons of course. They think you're only here to worship god period. I think the manufactured and controlled information on TV is what shapes and guides the masses to their conclusions. e.g. manufactured consent rather than thinking for yourself.

Bottom line TV is garbage for fundis and free thinkers alike.

Everyone evolves. In Saudi Arabia didnt allow women to drive 20 years ago. Now they do. Nowadays Taliban allow women in university.

Don't expect gay pride parades any time soon though lol.
