Yea all those casual or funny rape scenes from the 80s movies are off limits now. And anytime a character is pretending to be some other type of person for comedy you are going to be dealing mostly with stereotypes. And stereotypical humor is considered mean by today’s Hollywood.

What. You completely misunderstood that movie. Jack Burton isn't a white savior, he's a white buffoon caricature of typical action movie heroes who succeeds only because of his better and more accomplished Asian friends. Wang Chi is the real badass and the true hero of the movie with Egg Shen right behind him. Jack screws up or is beaten every single time. Hell, the film studio forced Carpenter to add more because Burton wasn't heroic enough. It's also such a PC/"bah gawd dah EssJayDubyooos!" movie with loads of Asian actors in major roles.
