My big stupid hype trains thread.

Nasrudinov is a good wrestler but his striking is lacking and he isn't big enough to make into top 10 in my opinion. The kazakh he was fighting was piecing him up and kinda exposed him for it.

True I think Egemberdiev is good on the feet though, his last KO of Luke Barnatt was gnarly.

EDIT - I think the problem he's gonna have in this fight is Jailton is good everywhere.

Hello my friend. Good seeing you. Hope you & your loved ones are staying safe & healthy.

Egemberdiev is really good on the feet. Solid fundamentals on his boxing and some good kicks, although his defense is porous. He performed well against Butorin, that was a wild fight. He also put a beating on Batraz Agnaev, who i rated high a few years back.

I haven't watched anything on Jailton but i hope he can grapple of his back or has stellar TDD because Nasrudinov is the type of wrestler to really pursue it non-stop if he feels like it.

Hello!! Great to talk to you again. I can only wish the same for everyone around you in these troubled times.

I haven't been as active here as of lately, but i'm still a dedicated fan.
Investing more time into others hobbies like gaming, though, but i kinda miss having good discussions here (specially when they weren't Cyborg-related :p).

Anyway i hope you have been able to enjoy the good fights we have been given in recent events.

Jailton will be pursuing the takedown himself, it'll be interesting to see who gets it. Jailton has obviously watched a lot of tape on Khabib.

Thank you, same to you.Yes, we've had some good discussions that are always fun and respectful. I've been into watching fights and learning more about them. Gardening around the house and working with an equine therapy program - some folks with mild autism respond well around horses, What games are you playing lately? I've enjoyed playing Borderlands 3 and the Halo Collection. Certainly crazy times. I hope this year things get a bit better, as I wish peace for you and for all.

Daniel Zellhuber

Country - Mexico
Weight Class - Lightweight
Age : 21
Promotion - LUX
Record : 11-0

He was fighting a late replacement, but even so it looked as though Zellhuber has levelled up to me since last time I saw him. Showed really varied offence with a nice array of kicks, straight shots, flying knees etc, which all seemed accurate and all seemed to have power behind them. I'd like to see him maybe take a fight in the LFA against a solid US regional LW next, but this guy has all the skills in the world offensively.

EDIT - Actually just caught the Polo Reyes fight on the same card, he still looks good and would be a great test.

Yeah, I wish they'd remove the limit. It makes absolutely no sense and means they miss out on some very good fighters. Even with that when it comes to Russian fighters they sometimes make weird selections like Popov or Khandozko.

My worry for Nasrudinov is that him and Jailton Junior are both so good they could cancel each other out and neither of them get a contract. I'd rather they were both fighting someone else as imo they're both easily good enough for the roster.
I've seen on twitter not so long ago that seems like Yandiev and Kuramagomedov was cut (or they profiles deleted from UFC website) so probably it means 2 spots on roster for Russians.
I think Khandozhko is kinda famous/popular, like outside of mma community. While Nasrudinov in my opinion is only known to Dagestani mma fans + those who watches ACA.

About HW -- Kornilov is not fighting Santos, because Santos asked them to release him since he was offered fight at DWTNCS.
Also, seems like info about Russian fighters is kind of a mess, on non-Russian websites -- Rusian Wiki lists Petrosyan as born in 1991 and mentons that he is Russian and Armenian (citizenship) mma fighter. If you are interested, Bimarzaev was asked in interview about Belarus, said that he lived there for 3 years and started mma career there and said that he has Russian citizenship.

I caught ONE, LFA and Titan this weekend.

Noone particularly stood out to me on the ONE card.

On LFA

Ricardo Dias (30/BW/Brazil/10-4) seems to have turned a corner in his career and is now on a 3 fight win streak, he got a spectacular finish with a knee and could maybe be in line to compete for the LFA title.

Jordan Heiderman (29/HW/USA/4-0) is a big and powerful dude, he seems a little bit too easy to hit which might haunt him agaisnt better competition, but he looks good so far.

Allan Begosso (25/BW/Brazil/6-0-1) is a Team Alpha Male trained finishing machine at the moment. I think he's ready for more experienced dudes, but I like his explosiveness and finishing instinct.

Kamuela Kirk (27/FW/USA/11-4) did get himself in a few sticky situations against Daniel Swaim but was ultimately able to drown him and force an experienced opponent to quit. I don't know if his method of slamming his way out of armbars will work with everyone, but we'll see.

This week we've got.

Fury FC tonight, which is going to have Dana in attendance filming for Looking for a fight, so expect someone to get a contract.

- Mana Martinez (25/BW/USA/7-2) lost on the Contender Series last year, but he has insane power for a BW (if he hits someone clean they seem to go out) which could carry him to the UFC if he performs against fellow contender series alum Jose Johnson (25/BW/USA/12-6)

- Cameron Graves (27/FW/USA/9-3) takes on fun striker Fernando Padilla (24/FW/Mexico/13-4)

- Theo Rlyang (26/LW/USA/5-0) fights Josh Altum.

Invicta returns on Friday

- Daina Torquato (30/FLW/Brazil/10-3) goes for the vacant belt against former title challenger Karina Rodriguez.

- #15 SW Juliana Miller (24/SW/USA/2-0) tries to keep her perfect record against Claire Guthrie (25/SW/USA/2-1)

- Josee Storts (22/FLW/USA/2-0) Vs Maria Favela (28/FLW/Mexico/2-0)

LFA on Friday

- #2 MW Josh Fremd (27/MW/USA/7-1) fights for the belt against Gregory Rodrigues (29/MW/Brazil/7-2) and surely punches his ticket to the big show with a victory.

- Mark Climaco (23/BW/USA/5-0) from AKA is back against JacksonWink product Rodney Kealohi (26/BW/USA/5-1)

- Clayton Carpenter (24/FLW/USA/3-0) from MMA Lab fights 3-1 Nick Clem

- #9 HW Thomas Petersen (25/HW/USA/5-0) makes a quick turnaround against 5-4 Richard Foster

Open Fighting Championship on Saturday

- #7 LW Eduard Vartanyan (29/LW/Russia/21-4) gets his post ACA career underway against 22-8 Brazilian Michel Silva

Aleksandr Grozin (24/FW/Russia/15/3) goes for the belt against Bruno Roverso (26/FW/Brazil/16-5)

Mana Martinez

Country - USA
Weight Class - Bantamweight
Age : 25
Promotion - FFC
Record : 8-2

This dude is the hardest hitting Bantamweight I've ever seen. It may be that he has some deficiencies in other areas of his game but that power is the great equalizer. It's almost Ngannou like in relation to his division, if he catches someone remotely clean, they hit the deck and it's clear they've never felt power like that before.

This Fury show had Dana in attendance filming Looking For a Fight and when that airs if this dude isn't a UFC fighter, I'll eat my hat.
