My big stupid hype trains thread.

Isnt ACA the biggest Eastern European MMA promotion? How come they dont have a TV deal? Is it becauae of the whole Kahdyrov thing?
My mistake, ACA is gonna be on TV too, I checked programm for today but their event happens on Friday.
And I think Kadyrov connection is kinda helps them. Not so sure about ACA but I remember they was broadcasting WFCA Kadyrov's birthday card, I think every year there is a card on October 4 that lasts until his birthday (October 5). So once I've seen they broadcasted live that card that ended like around 2 in the morning (brodcast lasted like a 4-5 hours) and it was something like a Tuesday. I am afraid majority of Russian promotions that wanted their card to be broadcasted that long and not on a holiday/weekend would be told to go fuck themselves.

Yusuf Raisov

Country - Russia
Weight Class - Lightweight
Age : 26
Promotion - RNC
Record - 18-2

Looks like Yusuf's been working on his boxing, because this was by far the best I've ever seen it. He just looked lovely working behind the jab to piece his opponent up and opening up with more powerful punches when the opportunity presented itself. He seems to have gotten over the tendency to spam spinning back kicks and looks like an all round better fighter. I was particularly impressed with the accuracy of his shots when he had his man hurt.

Gabriel Bonfim

Country - Brazil
Weight Class - Welterweight
Age : 23
Promotion - LFA
Record - 11-0

It was pretty unfortunate that Bonfim made basically one fuck up in his fight against fellow undefeated prospect Brenner Alberth which lead to him getting concussion symptoms and being unable to compete in the tournament final as I felt he was easily the class of the field.

Other than that mistake (in a fight he won by finish anyway) he just looked superb, with crisp and powerful hands and neat little judo trips and drops whenever his opponent tried to engage him in the clinch because he was sick of being punched in the face. Shot selection with this dude is something else and I believe he has a very bright future.

Rafael Ramos

Country - Brazil
Weight Class - Flyweight
Age : 24
Promotion - LFA
Record - 10-0

It's been a while since I've been able to get truly excited by a Nova Uniao fighter, but this seems to be the time to do it again. Ramos was taking on a national wrestling champion in Filipe Esteves and thoroughly out wrestled him as well as dominating every other aspect of the fight. Constant forward pressure, making takedowns look easy against the fence and ruthless guard passing and ground and pound. Made an opponent who certainly wasn't bad look like he was nowhere near his level.

Maybe it might be interesting for you -- according to interview with Shakhruramazanov in papers he is Georgiy -- people, who fills birth certificates thought that his father said "Georgiy" instead of "Gergy/Gergi".
Also he said that he was in UAE on that UFC event where U. Nurmagomedov was scheduled to fight Morozov to be a replacement fighter, but only fight that fell off was exactly that fight, he agreed to step up but UFC told him that Morozov said no.

Cool, I've fixed it on my Evernote list for next time. I don't blame Morozov for turning down a monster like him at short notice, but it'd have been nice for him to get a UFC shot.

Biggest as in some of the best Russian fighters are in ACA...or maybe they used to be.
Well, some of their fighters considered to be best or good only on Sherdog. For example, regarding Vakhaev people in Russia mostly remember that outside of Kadyrov's promotions his record is something like 3-5 and that he often acts like an asshole. If I'm not mistaken, he slapped Bilostenniy on the jaw when referee was giving instructions, landed a punch or two on a guy after referee stopped the fight, there was some stuff with Goncharov on their pre-fight interview for TV. After the fact he says that he sorry and blah-blah and in his next fight another crap happens. And regarding his record, people speculate that it's because he is a PED user.
Regarding their current champions -- Bibulatov went 1-2 in UFC, AAA was not so good in his fight with Sarnavskiy (seems like opinion of people was that Sarnavskiy is past his prime and on a decline and should retire, instead some people think that he won 3 rounds in his fight with AAA (I haven't seen the fight but that is the comments that I've seen in Internet)).

I really thought AAA, Vakhaev, Vartanyan, etc. were highly regarded in Russia. Thanks for the info.

Random little factoid I just found out. Gregory Rodrigues switched camps to Sanford MMA 2 months before the Fremd fight. I feel like that gym is really messing up Dana's designs for the MW and WW division.

Not on your list but Anthony Romero is going to the UFC, I think.

I've been a little underwhelmed by him the two times I've seen him, might have just caught bad fights though.
Come to think about it, he doesnt have the fan friendly style the UFC likes. And the fact he didnt tag the UFC makes me think he might have signed with PFL or Bellator.

What's the run down on this guy. Seems like all the City Kickboxing guys get signed very early in their careers, don't know if that's the best tho. Carlos Ulberg already lost his debut,

I'm not familiar with this guy. I see on hs record that he beat Dimps Gillies who I've seen once and he looked okayish

I hope this doesn’t turn into another Albert Tumenov situation where he keeps begging Dana to sign him whenever someone pulls out and Dana just brings in a regional American guy instead
