Corrosion has been bugging me to make a log for a couple of months now. So here we go. I've been trying to master technique so my squats and deadlifts aren't as good as I'd like, that and I have unique grips issues, but aside from that hope to make some major progress soon.

My chinups could be better. I set a goal of 35 and on my last two sets just did 5 instead of going for broke. I'll have to up the number I do from now on.

Good to see that you've finally started a log. You could update your first post with height, weight, current maxes, ect. if you feel like it.

I'm not going to fall, by the way.

I don't think I'll be deadlifting past 205 until I get straps. All weight up to that is manageable, but my grip issues are preventing me from doing anymore than that. I made a really amateur mistake today when trying to do my final lift. The bar slipped through my left hand and instead of just letting it fall I tried to catch it and ended up tearing off some skin on my left hand. This definitely affected the rest of my work out. I had planned on increasing the weight on my presses, but was feeling really weak today. Even my intervals were tougher than usual. Once I get my straps though I anticipate my deadlift will go up significantly.

Nice work man, I didn't get the staps yet...maybe they'll come on Friday?

I'll have to see your battle scar this weekend.

Didn't get to finish my workout. Got to the gym late so didn't get everything in before it closed. My chin ups and dumbbell bench felt good, nice and smooth. I still need to work on my squats. I still don't go parallel every time, so I think I'm going to work on that before going up in weight. Next week I'm going to switch from dumbbell bench to regular bench and see how that goes.

Are you using a mixed grip on deadlifts?

My problem is I was born with the fingers on my left hand being half the length of those on my right and with no joints to bend/roll my fingers around the bar. I've tried both the overhand grip and the underhand grip, but I still have the same issue with my left hand. Not to mention the obvious strength disparity. So I've been trying to decrease the disparity (which is why I'm doing dumbbell bench instead of regular) but decreasing the grip strength disparity is a lot more difficult. I can't really use grippers either because my fingers aren't long enough for them in the first place. I've dealt with it my whole life, the only time it's ever been an issue with me doing anything is well, now with certain kinds of lifts.

APT sells lifting hooks which might less of a pain in the ass than straps. I've never used them so I don't know how comfortable they are. Worth a try though.

Decent work out today. I haven't done regular bench in a couple of years, but I'm feeling good about where I'm at right now with it. I can definitely try using more weight next time. I've been working lots of over time this past week so I haven't been able to get to the gym and it's been affecting my sleep, so I was uber exhausted working out. Which is why I didn't finish.

On another note a couple of guys at work recommended Size On to bulk up. I was wondering if any of you guys had any experience with it. I'm not really a supplements guy (most of that shit is just placebo effect) but I was looking at it. Any thoughts would be welcome.

I don't know if I'm doing those Perfect Push Ups correctly. My wrists get red red in certain places and I can feel it in my elbows.

Good work out today. Everything seemed to click. The 45 went up much easier than last week. I should have gone for 5 on each rep instead of 3. Today was the first time I used my new straps for deadlift. They work, but I'm going to have to get used to starting deadlifts in a squatting position rather than standing. Overall good workout.

Looking swole, brah :icon_chee

Nice job today, I'm glad your straps are working for you...now you can deadlift some serious poundage.

Thanks man. I think next time I'm going to go for even more weight. The 215 went up easier than I thought it would, I also think I'm going to switch from chin ups to pull ups for awhile.

Hahaha, I just noticed in my last post in the first sentence I typed "work out" and the last sentence I typed "workout."
