Don't forget DC beating TRT Bigfoot (the same one who beat Fedor months earlier) and Josh Barnett (who was always on something) in Strikeforce. Those were two BIG HWs in or very close to their primes...and DC beat both easily.

Jan easily passed Izzys guard multiple times, got side mount, good GNP and in the 5th passed to full mount and likely wouldve finished with a bit more time either GNP or sub

Meanwhile Daniels mediocre top game couldnt get past 44yo grandpa post leg bureak Andersons half guard and lockdown the whole fight and had a pathetic lay and pray performance after getting hurt by a body kick

Jan has much better standup and DCs defense standing is horrible specially for a top fighter. He just walks into sturikes and relies on his chin. He also has some of the worst defense ever to body shots. Barnett, Murr, Anderson, Bones and Stipe all hurt him badly to the body.

Sure, but from the list only Bones was able to actually beat him and he was a horrible matchup.
And do you really think Jan has better standup? DC has far quicker hands and better boxing.
 
Prime DC was the best fighter on the planet. Outside of pico Jones.

Jan has way better standup than DC. Cormier has better infighting but at range Jan has a hooge advantage specially defensively.

Not only Bones, Stipe beat him as well. DC arguably lost to Gus and nearly got finished standing. Past purime Barnett won the last 2 rounds (or shouldve as well) and DCs output waned from the body shots. He beat Murr via wall n stall it was an incredibly mediocre performance and Murr landed the most significant sturikes of the fight by a good margin. DC beating a 44yo Anderson off his couch and recovering from surgery doesnt mean anything specially since he had to lay n pray to win

I dont see him being good enough to finish Jan whos one of the most durable guys in MMA and only got finished by a leg injury to Soko and lunging into a counter from Santos one of the best counter punchers in MMA. And by late he'll be too gassed and hurt to the body

DC is always slipping outside the jab and leaning into left high kicks. Jan would jab or jab fake the outside slip out of DC and LEFT HIGH KICK THE SHIT OUT OF DC. And if not, the left high kick would keep DC's head at neutral for his superior jab, or make DC slip inside into his right hand (1-2s)

Or Jan would beat the shit out of DC with punching combinations ending with LEFT BODY KICK

Not only that, look how much Stipe ruined DC by widening base or stepping into southpaw and getting DC circling into hooks. That's Jan vs DC

Jan would beat the breaks off over rated DC. It would look like Stipe vs DC with shades of Jan vs Reyes (getting DC circling into hooks, getting DC moving back with punches and ending with left body kicks or left high kicks)

Knowing how dominantly Gus grappled Jan for 3 rounds, I have no doubt prime DC would maul him.

Maybe? Jan definitely has more power at lhw. DC's wrestling and dirty boxing is what would make a difference tho
