Which one was the better rap group?

    I'll go with Public Enemy.

    Just pure rhymes?

Chuck D is pretty awesome, but Flava Flav annoys the fuck out of me (although his rhymes aren't bad, honestly).

NWA had Ice Cube, Dre, Eazy, and Ren, who are all legends, although Ren and Cube wrote most of the lyrics.

    Gotta go with NWA.

Aye. Cube by himself > Public Enemy. Public Enemy jammed with Anthrax though, so that's pretty awesome.

NWA had music that I enjoyed listening to more, Public Enemy had the ability to convey a message without constant glorification of gang life and everything that goes with it.

Hey bud. You well? Good to see you. I didn't practice my rhymes while I was gone. But eventually I will get back to it.

They do, but the NWA guys had it individually, and were able to go off on their own and produce better music, better careers, and more accolades than Public Enemy did as a group.

I suppose Public Enemy was the better group in that sense, since they've stayed together, but NWA had the better individual rappers comprising their group and are more well known. At least Dre, Cube, and Eazy. Ren is way underrated though, imo, and that's sad, bc he was the second best rhyme in that group, and the gap between him and Eazy/Dre is huge.

Talk about the great lineup of NWA all you want but shortly after "Straight Outta Compton" hit it big Ice Cube was out of the group and suing the manager, going solo, and trading disses.

Also, Dre is a woman beating piece of shit, so there's that.......

I just gotta say, Wu-Tang Clan is far better than both.
