Rico Verhorven vs. Francis in a standup fight with mma gloves. Who wins?

Not everyone, just UFC shills. Just wait for Ngannu to criticize Dana or the UFC again and they will say that Rico will kick his ass and he was never that good.
If that were the case people would already be saying that

Rico. To think Francis would have a chance against someone who only does stand up is pretty dumb. Francis isn't technical. You can't just swing away in kickboxing and get away with it.

Francis can't take Rico down, because TS is talking about a standup fight, not MMA.
Rico wins the standup 9/10 times.

This gif is nonsense because Sapp was close to 150 lbs heavier then Hoost.
Rico isat least just as big as Francis and maybe even bigger.

Came across this thread by coincidence. I assume you do not have the same opinion about Ngannou's ability of landing takedowns anymore. Gane has been training MMA for many years and has tons of experience and could not stop his takedowns. Rico has 1 amateur fight in MMA, he would get wrestlefucked by Ngannou if Ngannou wanted to.

That said, it's not needed. Heavyweight is probably the weakest division in Glory and Verhoeven is a mediocre champion who peaked after the peak of kickboxing and thus reigned for a long time. Yet he fought Hari twice long after his peak and was losing both fights until Hari's injuries (and was about to lose the second fight by a finish). Fossil Overeem beat Hari convincingly after not fighting under kickboxing rules for like 12 years lol.

Even regardless of the fact that Rico's credentials are overrated, his type of striking does not translate well to MMA. He is kickheavy, flat footed (mediocre footwork), does barely incorporate head movements or even parries to dodge (and counter) and in stead relies on a high guard which is what gave him huge trouble in his only MMA fight (which is why he panic wrestled). Try shelling up and block all of Ngannou's flury punches with 4 oz gloves, you might even get wobbled from blocking them. The only to fighters that showed succes to Ngannou in stand up were fighters with good footwork and head movement which Rico has neither of.

Ngannou would probably win by knockout in the first minute of the first round. And I say that as someone from the Netherlands lol.

Ernesto Hoost was 37 years old during Sapp vs. Hoost 1.

Ernesto Hoost was 37 years old during Sapp vs. Hoost 2.

Furthermore, Sapp was much heavier (like other users have mentioned) and much taller than Hoost was.

Somehow, Sapp was able to weigh 381 lb and still have at least some cardiovascular endurance. I wonder how he was able to do that.
