So I Finally Shaved My Hair After Years Of Long Hair

I've tried it all. Long hair, short hair, bald, beard, no beard. Hair is still holding on pretty well at 35 even with some greys, although it's slowly moving towards a vegeta hairline. Who knows where it'll be in a few years. The thing is, I look terrible bald so I'll be holding on for dear life.

I finally took the plunge and shaved my head with a three guard at some Puerto Rican barbershop here in northern nj where I live.

It looks and feels so much better and all I’ve been getting are compliments, which I’ll take when I can get 😁😂

My hair, while quite long/shoulder length, was unfortunately starting to thin a bit. I just turned 37 so I guess I had a good run! After a certain point I really stopped taking care of it. And it showed.

There are some pics floating around here that show the longhair.

I was a bit nervous with my live-in gf because she always said she loves guys with a full head of hair and could never date a bald guy. Well I’m not bald per se, and it actually looks fuller and healthier short, but here we are!

She actually took it very well and was supportive. She thinks it kinda looks badass compared to my long hair lol 😂 . I used to look like a grungy little dweeb.

Now I don’t have to wear a hat or beanie everywhere I go.

Anyone here recently make a big chop? Thinking about doing so? Here is an honest and chill place to talk about it!

I'm 37 as well but lucky my hair hasn't thinned. Right now I have a full head of hair but I buzz it all off with no guard every 3 months or so. I'm ugly as fuck with no hair. All my past gf's have hated it. Lmao I remember one girl even broke up with me over it. It's humbling in a way. It's about time to shave it all off again because fuck having a full head of hair in a Louisiana summer.
The way I see it is, if you have great hair genetics... Why waste a great head of hair?

I can see if you're balding or what not shaving it all off. But the key is taking care of the long hair. Having it and it looking like shit is not good either.

I don't really look at it as a waste. It always grows back and it's very thick. It's annoying to deal with, it's hot, and I have to maintain it every day. I've done this cycle pretty much my whole life, I've maybe been to a barber twice. Both times I think I ended up hating it and shaved my head anyways.

It gets too much to deal with, I shave it off, and then once it becomes too much to deal with again I just repeat the cycle. If I'm with a woman who can't accept it, then they can just fuck right off.

In a few years it will be Norwood over 9000.

You might have a good head shape as well? And be lucky with both.

That's just short hair, not even a shave.

Razor or GTFOH

:meow:
Lmao 🤣 I’ll get there someday, for now there’s enough hair to keep it on the short side.

The big chop was traumatic enough!

And ufc on espn 54 weighins are about to start too fyi

lol don't fall for that shit. people who want what others have try put them down for it.

edit: ok I saw the pic it suits you better

edit 2: actually then again you could have just gone to a stylist. Stylised long hair looks hotter than shaven.
