Social Security’s trust funds will become unable to pay full benefits starting in 2034, one year earlier than estimated last year.

The U.S. government also said Medicare’s hospital insurance fund will be depleted by 2026, or at the same time as predicted in 2020.

It sounds like many people won’t be able to retire.

its a great program, but its a pyrmaid scheme. Imagine paying into it your whole working life and when its time to collect your money back they say sorry, were out. Id hate to be the president on shift when that time comes.
Yet they will still fucking pay pensions for government employees. Fucking despicable

This isn’t the 1970s, we’ve scaled back government employees very much. The contempt for government employees isn’t warranted, unless you’re talking a specific state or something. I know you’re in Cali which may be different.

I’m speaking Ca. I have friends that are firefighters and cops. Most will retire by 50 making $120k+ a year in pension with full health benefits. They make over $300k a year every year like clockwork.
How do I know? I look up their wage, it’s public info. Got to love 24 hour work days to sleep for firefighters and unlimited OT for both.

You mean those government employees who also paid into the system their whole working lives?

Ah yes, you’ve posted that before. It is despicable. I was thinking more that the current set of government employees are not expendable or unnecessary.

And firefighters and police are needed, but they are killing the taxpayer in some instances

Cops I give somewhat of a pass because nobody wants their job and they are hated by pretty much everyone. Firefighters however have the greatest job on earth. They milk that hero shit when it’s a harder job to land than a CEO. Don’t get me wrong, volunteer firefighters are heroes and great people. Scroll through 50 pages of transparent CA to see all the firefighters clearing over $450k each year like clockwork.

The solve for social security that sickens me the most is eliminating the cap. The extra 6.2% for the employee goes a long way in expensive states where you are already taxed to death and paying 1,000sq foot for property. Not too mention what corps will do having to absorb 6.2 above the cap.

The paid firefighters in my area call the volunteers "crackerdicks". I hope that is the same across the country.
Wtf do they mean by that? I know all firefighters don’t make $350k/year like they average in CA so maybe that’s a term of endearment…

Basically it means that they are wannabes and they get made fun of. I don't necessarily agree because I am sure they can be helpful, but crackerdick is a funny name to call anyone.

I’ll no doubt use it in my repertoire but fuck those pieces of shit for saying that to volunteers. They make the blue code look like child’s play with how they protect their racket.
