The greatest voice in music history - Pick one male and one female..

Another one for Steve Perry. Female would be Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde.

depends on criteria but here goes.
male; Jackie Wilson
Female: Whitney Houston

As for influence and communication: Male; Elvis Presley Female? Not sure, maybe Madonna although she's not that talented.

Pure Rock and Roll singing? Male: Little Richard Female Tina Turner

pretty easy choices for me, Mike Patton, and a before crack was whack Whitney Houston

Mercury/Cornell/Keenan...Cant pick one, but these are easily my favourites.

Aretha Franklin for the women.

Sinatra, Whitney.

Presently I'd vote for Hozier and Adele.

This is impossible.

Linda Ronstadt, Anne Wilson, Alison Krause, and Aretha Franklin definitely get on the short list. Laura Branigan, Irene Cara, and Patsy Cline, too.

All great, could do things other people really struggle to do, and could do it all live.

Devin Townsend or Jorn Lande for males,
Tarja or Whitney for females.

Many mentioned Freddie, but IMO if we judge his voice alone, and not him as a performer and frontman, he is not the very best (still obviously great).

Not a big Queen guy but Freddy obviously takes male. In terms of women? My likes don’t represent raw skill. I’m one of those mags who likes Stevie. She’s shite vocally.
