: We are implementing a new feature called LIVE THREADS. To enable them, click on your status bar (Your username on top of the screen) and go down to "Join User Groups". If you join in on the "Live Threads" usergroup, you will automatically be a part of this.

What it means is that you will no longer have to refresh the thread when viewing it, as new posts will be added automatically.

Sherdog Main Page writers Ant Walker and Jason Burgos want to talk things over and answer your questions on a Live Video Chat series titled "The Trenches," airing Thursday at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT.

We also want your thoughts on a poll posted in this thread, with this week's poll question asking the following:

What is the most impactful MMA news headline this week?

Chime in on the conversation by voting in our poll or posting any fight questions you have.

Ant holds over 15 years of martial arts experience, training in multiple styles including Boxing, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Kung Fu and Krav Maga, and also coached amateur MMA fighters. A former Sherdog Radio Network personality and current contributor to Sherdog.com, this self-described "gym rat" seeks to impart his knowledge and discuss all things MMA with his fellow community members.

A journalist by trade, Jason has also co-hosted and produced multiple podcasts (including the "Fight Strength Podcast" with American Top Team trainer Phil Daru) over the years. He has contributed for several publications, and was a Senior Editor for MMASucka.com before landing at Sherdog. Along with his plethora of articles based on his exclusive interviews, Jason frequently covers live events for the site, chronicling the happenings with his growing photographic talents.

Select questions from this thread will be answered in the article, and additional questions from this thread may be used in an upcoming episode of live video chat series 'The Trenches,' hosted on the forum every Thursday. Below are links to previous episodes of that series as well as his previous 'Ask Ant' articles.

Do you guys believe Conor McGregor will actually stay retired?

Do you guys think that this will be the fight Justin Gaethje shows off his wrestling skills in the UFC and abandons his brawler style?

Is the fight between Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Michelle Waterson the sexiest fight in the UFC to date?

Do you guys believe that Thiago Santos is the most deserving contender to fight Jon Jones for the LHW title? Or is he simply the most entertaining choice?

@jei.....added a few

There's a bigger question now, but I don't know how far they'll want to get into that topic on Thursday.

* Can you believe that all of us are a part of ONE FC's 1.8 billion potential viewers? Wow, that makes one feel pretty small, doesn't it? Marketing-wise, is ONE's brand of extreme hyperbole just empty noise, or is any noise good noise? Will it lead them to conquer Japan? PS: they recently asked on twitter if Mei Yamaguchi is the best female Japanese MMArtist of all time.

* With the UFC switching their model from PPVs to TV-deals, do you think that they will be more susceptible and damaged by scandals than before? I mean, they are pretty cosy with that one dictator that likes to purge gay people. And Connor is in a rape-trial.

Do you see MMA going more towards a boxing model and eliminating exclusive contracts? And if so, what walls would need to be broken down in order for that to happen?

Wait seriously?

Read 'em and weep.

If Ant or Jason are Mega-Megumi fans then we're in for the mother of all meltdowns.

Or just a Aya Hamasaki or Yuka Tsuji fan.

What are some techniques which are criminally under-utilized in MMA?

(Apart from the ones which are most often disussed, like "no one knows how to jab properly" and "How come more people didn't start using the superman punch after GSP had such success with it?")

and a similar one:
Have you seen any new techniques in MMA that made you go "Wow - never thought that could work in MMA but somehow it does". Or techniques which you never even thought of before.

(Like Khabib's shovel punch)

*edit: mustn't have read the OP, I thought this was about general questions, not the most impactful headline*

The poll is up, asking you what the most impactful MMA news headline is this week.

We can also use more questions for the show, whether they're about the Philly card this weekend, One Championship going big on Sunday with Mighty Mouse and Eddie Alvarez, Cain Velasquez's jaunt into another sport, or whatever you come up with.

Conor retiring
Not much is know about the allegation and most is hearsay at the moment, plus not many personal are going in to in depth

The allegation definitely has the about to become the biggest story though I honestly expect it to go quiet real soon

I voted Nunes-Holm. It’s a competitive match-up (unlike Jones* vs Santos), and if Nunes wins, she will have solidified her case as being the GOAT WMMA fighter. Marshmann is a fool for publicly talking about going AWOL, and the part-time fighter who sells whiskey and commits various crimes is not relevant to me.
Woodley-Lawler 2 is a decent fight, but not a meaningful rematch.
