The octagon isn't a fight to the death so not tapping when there is no way out except ligament or tendon damage or bone snapping isn't a good idea to your career as a fighter as that may put you out of commission for a year and u may never be the same again if it doesn't heal right. The only damage is to your pride but as aprizefighter if u come to that point when not tapping is certain structural injury like that, then u have already lost anyway and u and your opponent know it.

It would also be bad for business for the ufc and Belllator and one because half their roster would be recovering form serious injuries all the time and mma would get a bad name in the general population as the sports that cripples its participants whixh may lead to bad publicity and possible legislation.
