I heard Mark Steyn talk about podesta being hired as a lobbyist for Huawei, edit. This is a Big Deal it its accurate.
These people will sell out anything for a buck, even when its not theirs to sell. Lets hope the first article I linked holds true for overseas and here.

From this article it seems the biden occupations position on Huawei was the same as President Trump's, but now it seems podesta has been hired by huawei. That likely means a reversal of the US's hard line stance on Chinas ultimate takeover of everything if they could continue with their 5G infrastructure plans. What say you peeps, does the US continue to block or will the administration roll over and give way to China?

Tech Decoupling: China's Race to End Its Reliance on the U.S.
The tech battle between the U.S. and China has battered TikTok and Huawei and startled American companies that produce and sell in China. The U.S. government is ratcheting up pressure on Beijing’s 5G ambitions overseas, offering financial incentives and other enticements to countries willing to shun Chinese-made telecom gear.

U.S. foreign-affairs agencies are developing workshops and a handbook that would help policy makers in places like Central and Eastern Europe, and in developing countries elsewhere, to build next-generation 5G cellular networks that don’t use equipment from Huawei Technologies Co. and China’s ZTE Corp.

U.S. officials say they also plan to offer training to foreign politicians, regulators and academics overseeing the rollout of 5G networks in their respective countries in coming months and years. Leading the initiative is the Commerce Department’s Commercial Law Development Program, whose mission is to advance U.S. foreign policy by directly collaborating with foreign governments on technical and legal matters.

To help with training, U.S. officials say they are putting together a reference book that includes case studies of how American allies such as Britain have implemented restrictions on Chinese telecom equipment.

Over the weekend, the Group of Seven industrialized nations unveiled a new global infrastructure initiative called “Build Back Better World.” The Biden administration has positioned it as an alternative to China’s Belt and Road initiative, which has aimed Chinese investment at infrastructure projects around the world. While not part of the weekend G7 initiative, Washington’s new incentives for avoiding Chinese telecom purchases underscores the U.S.’s special focus on the telecom industry.

BREAKING: Huawei hires Democratic lobbyist Tony Podesta
After being condemned by former president Trump, Chinese tech giant Huawei has enlisted the help of Tony Podesta in their effort to win over the Biden administration.

After being condemned by former president Trump, Chinese tech giant Huawei has enlisted the help of Tony Podesta in their effort to win over the Biden administration.

Huawei has failed to gain a foothold in the American market, and much of that fact is due to the actions taken by the Trump administration. In February 2020 for example, the Department of Justice (DOJ) charged Huawei with violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. According to Politico, the DOJ alleged that Huawei "helped Iran’s authoritarian government build out its domestic surveillance capabilities and tried to secretly do business in North Korea."

The company's chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou was arrested in Canada in 2018, and is currently in court fighting extradition to the United States, where she faces charges brought forth by the DOJ.

Needless to say, Huawei-American relations tilt heavily in the latter's favour. The company has announced a plan to change that however, with the assistance of a man who not only knows the ins and outs of lobbying in Washington, but is also a longtime friend of President Biden himself. That man is Tony Podesta.

Podesta's hiring at Huawei will not be his first time working with a Chinese company. As Politico reports, the Podesta Group also represented the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF), which has links to the Chinese Communist Party.

Huawei has reportedly also hired many other Americans familiar with the political landscape in DC. Whether their attempt to win over the Biden administration succeeds has yet to be seen.

Member when Tony P was caught doing the same thing as Paul Manafort, but got away with it?

I member.

Not much traction on this topic, this bell can’t be unrung, there will not be an opportunity to fix this if they are allowed to proceed…..and everybody already knows this administration is going to sell out our entire country to line their pockets.

They will end up with access to everything, trade secrets, proprietary information, intellectual property, militarily or otherwise

The Pedostas are replacing all their "artwork" of naked kids getting tortured with Hunter Biden original paintings they got as gifts from Chinese state owned companies.
Those Hunter paintings aren't a problem according to numerous libs.

Non surprise here at all. Biden’s family and circle are very close to China
What is alarming is that they are selling out the USA for very little

Someday people will realize the democrats are the party of fat cats on Wall Street. Cheap labor and monopolies.
Biden America already makes 70% of wealth in this country. Yet they continue with the "feel your pain" nonsense. Cheap basically slave labor and especially slave labor for the Uighurs is what they like. http://www.endslaverynow.org/act/action-library/learn-about-forced-labor-in-china
In this case imagine China with the data capturing ability on par with facebook, google and the NSA combined

Oh Murica, you had China eating out the palm of your hands for semiconductor before this while decoupling thing.

Keyword: HAD

Wall Street despises the economic isolationism/protectionism that much of the Republican Party is forced to adopt thanks to Trump.

All the major businesses are Democrat.

But hey: trans rights!

Another Clinton Crime family cockroach who has probably been selling us out since the 90s.

The US has relatively lax regulation of "lobbying" (and it's not particularly strong in the rest of the OECD either).
I doubt he'll even have to register as working for a foreign government when representing Huawei, despite the reality of CCP involvement.
I'm somewhat surprised he's back at it though. I thought the Podesta Group went bust due to mismanagement.
That means he's got no revolving door to offer.
