International Trump calls for reinvasion of Afghanistan

He's right it would appear. If we provide for the Afghan military to do a job then when given an opportunity they instantly fail and show no sign of even wanting to succeed then we go get our things back. Leaving all that equipment does nothing for us and potentially does a lot to harm us, if nothing else, it's an enormous waste...

Let's let the military weigh in, would they be on board with getting our equipment back?

Yes. They magically pop out of nowhere and straight into detention centers. Every single one. Only what is said is a possibility and the most obvious things are overlooked unless stated outright.

Probably not. The US didn't arm the Afghans with the latest and greatest stuff, it was all hand-me-downs and castoffs. The US hasn't used Woodland camo like this for 15+ years.

All the vehicles and equipment won't have reliable service records so would need to be completely overhauled to be usable again by US standards, it'd be a complete waste of money going over there and taking anything back.

The US military industrial complex would benefit far more as using this as excuse to build even more weapons and equipment that'll probably never get used.

We can let them keep their clothes... Guns, ammo/other munitions, electronics, vehicles, salvageable infrastructure components, etc.

If it doesn't make sense financially then maybe we chalk it up to a huge waste and really scrutinize any further wastefulness but the calculations should weigh the value of principle a little. Maybe we get our shit back so it doesn't supply an enemy of our interests ...

Or maybe this is a hegel-esque play and we're ensuring an opponent to battle, we cause the problem, foment the reaction and offer the solution...
