A lot of guys giving you good advice itt. All I can say is I know for a fact that most bettors hate losing more than they love winning. These are the times where you feel the worst about yourself. If you need to take time off, then do it, but there's also other options like lowering your average bet size and definitely focus on learning to try to be more disciplined. I still chase and over bet at times but it's a lot less worse than in my earlier days of gambling years ago.

Almost every successful bettor that I know has lost a ton of money and ruined their bankroll at least one time before. I've heard horror stories you can't imagine with poker players and sports bettors, it's terrible but you live and you learn. Just know that the worst mistake you can make is chasing when you're losing (like betting double your last stake if you lose, you just can't do that if you want to make money) and not get carried away with the amount you risk on fights/games.

Either way keep your head up, you'll be alright, it's not the end of the world, although I know it's depressing as fuck, but now you have to start lowering your unit size now that you lost so much of your bankroll, and start trying your best to stay more disciplined when you bet, it's the hardest thing to do when it comes to gambling but it's also the most important. I don't care what anyone says, everybody fucks up bad at some point, hopefully you learn from it and make it all back and more. GL in the future buddy.

Jesus. Obviously. My point is he isn't going to learn not to do that by taking a siesta and reading sports betting 101. The dude obviously is in pain and his human reaction should be to stop himself from feeling that way again. Now if he is a TRUE compulsive gambler then OF COURSE he should stay away.

But WE have all been in shitty spots. We have all done shit we regret. And without doing those things we would not have learned from it.

he's saying he's distressed from losing 9k so i'm saying stop betting and research how to use a staking plan before that 9k turns into 20k

I am not arguing the stopping of any future betting or not. I'm saying what he is feeling right now is the best damn research one can do to stop from doing it again. The stress he is feeling SHOULD stop him from making the same mistake. If it doesn't I'm not sure taking a break will.

Only he knows if this setback is enough to change his ways.

Honestly. What happened when this happened to u? Or something comparable? I eventually learned from my mistakes. I said F off to any advice given to me. It was only when I felt the sting that I truly learned my lesson

Yea i do makes things a lot easier. Initially did it as i was buying a house so it hid gambling from the mortgage company. But it makes things much easier to manage and stops you betting with your wages too.

I thought it was but miscalculated the parlay return with cb being voided so just over £4k.

Sorry to hear the loss but been their many times myself, everyone has given excellent advice here, like many have said its a not a sprint but a marathon, have to try and look at the long term here.

I had to make many adjustments, lowering my stake or ignoring fights and simply waiting for a better card or better fight, doing my best to not chase (although very hard to do), you need that right mind set of being the turtle, you may take hours to get to the finish line but you will get there and win, while ignoring the rabbit.

I say to ignore the rabbit since its easy as blokes to see other people hitting crazy winning numbers around here and lets face it we all want a piece of that, but one has to be happy for them instead, its not a competition remember your end game is to be successful long term.

Keeping a separate bank account and managing bank roll is key, something mentioned above so almost think of it as money you are almost willing to lose, try not to dip into your savings or wages, don't quit that day or part time job either its an guaranteed steady income to pay bills. Separating these will help you keep more disciplined in your approach. I also regularly withdraw money every month usually one or two units, so if I lose a big amount its almost been covered through regular withdrawals and I don't dip into that so my savings or regular bank acc remains in the +.

UK bookies have a motto, loath it but its true 'when the fun stops, stop' easier said then done and I bet most of us ignore it with the chase.

Again not suggesting to stop, and hey you made 40K in your b365 account? So somewhere you had great success, did you argue and get your money back from them? there have been reports of bookies blocking large withdrawals before, you can post here for further advice.

Still smashed it, had a good event also think we both went too heavy on rivera I had 1.5K on him at one point decision and su, missed another 2K parlay due to andrande hitting a sub and not ko, last weeks parlay again a sub instead of a ko and I know as soon as I play sub it will end in ko.

Still time to start the research on the next bat crazy event !

Damn missed that. I thought they were just arguing.

Wouldn't he have gotten the technical decision? IE Cerrone Varner. OSP Villante?
