UFC Fight Night - Barboza vs Chikadze - Offical discussion

Is anyone doing DraftKings or fanduel this weekend?

Wondering if Meerschaert has a punchers chance at all. I think his chin is completely shot and he's got a clear athletic ceiling he can't progress past. However someone I know think he's got a shot by submission.

I think Alvey has a shot too, but I wonder at what point his age shows up. Then again he survived against Spann so maybe he might be a better play here. Turman isn't much of a striker anyways.

I have a hard time believing though that Giga would lose to some of the guys that Edson has lost to, while I lean on Giga , I know Edson could pull off a win too.

Not only do I think Giga would lose to most of the guys Barboza lost to, I also think he wouldn't beat some of the guys that Barboza beat.

Imo meershart will get KOd rd 2 or 3. He's very basic on the feet and everyone should know he's decent on the ground.

I think the over 2.5 is good parlay material for Alvey fight. Alvey has actually lost quite a few in a row and wellington is aggressive but been KOd in recent time. Alvey could survive the onslaught

In the Chimaev and Heinisch KOs he was finished by the first good punch that landed. Do you think he can avoid being hit for a round or that his chin is good enough to hold up for a while against Muradov?

I think hes well aware his jaw is shit. I think he's gona come out cautious in rd 1. Gm3 doesn't seem like a hot head but it'll depend on how aggressive mahmud is in rd 1

Muradov generally is caution too, doesn't push anything, but he might feel confident that he can here

Lee ITD +230, Lee sub +420, u2.5 +114, Lee ML, Lee/Jacoby/u4.5 in the ME, and u4.5 in the ME straight.

There's levels to grappling. D-Rod has a tendency of giving his back up when he's trying to get back up, and up until this point he hasn't fought anyone able to capitalize on it.

If Kevin Lee gets your back, unless you're Gordon Ryan, you're fucked.

Edit: sprinkled Barboza KO just now, these odds are off

edit2: I realize my balance is displayed and low af, I have soooo many pending bets, and I cashed out a few hundred after PFL yesterday on FD and betmgm. i don't leave a lot of money on books, i try to keep 1k or less in 5 diff books or so to get the best lines. unit size is 130 atm

Kind of expected more from Emmers based on all the love he's getting this week, but I was pretty underwhelmed.

Well put together, I think he's a finished product, like we've seen the best Emmers already, not that he's declining but I don't think he's going to be adding much new to his game. Competent all rounder, and physically has a great build and proportions for the weight class, I think the height, reach and just over all physicallity of Emmers do give him a bit of an edge off the bat.

Sabatini is too small for feather weight in my opinion, and he lacks some physical strength - Yeah he can pick guys up and slam them to the mat here and there, but when he's in clinch positions or grabs bodylocks he struggles to move his opponent, or he will get in deep on the hips against the cage and just doesn't have the horse power to complete the takedown.

I honestly see more long term upside in Sabatini. Emmers looks like he should be an amazing prospect, and just falls a little flat for me, doing everything right but not actually doing much of it. Moves well, controls distance well, just generally slick standing, but he's not much of a power threat and he's not throwing much in combination. A few darting blitzes really.

I think Sabatini has a great base to build on, but the striking does not come naturally to him. He switches stance at times but doesn't look comfortable either way, and leaves his leg out there to be kicked. At times he shows some amazing speed though, like throwing a left high kick and instantly ducking in on the hips for a double off of it, lightning quick. Packs a punch, but it's going to be very difficult for him to find a way inside here.

I think he likely spends 3 rounds frustrated and stuck on the outside. He could have some success catching kicks or if he feels he can take the damage just repeatedly wade in and grab a body lock or whatever is avaliable. I can see a path where Sabatini starts to wear down and swamp Emmers, but he has to have a strategy in place to get past the reach difference and shut down some of the movement of Emmers.

Unless Sabatini has either made a leap or has the perfect gameplan here he's in for a tough and annoying night I feel. Current line is probably about accurate, I suspect Emmers takes more steam pre fight and gets close to touching -200, if Emmers does hit -200 or deeper I think the value moves to Sabatini.

Overs hit, GTD 85% hits, Sabatini round 3/decision probably holds some value too - If you think he has the gameplan. Live entry on Sabatini will be there, and is probably the best option if you like him. Emmers decision is most likely out come, I think him finishing is him catching Sabatini with a head kick or something along those lines.

Muradov probably rolls but Geralds submission line is probably decent.

My bad I wasn't trying to read the whole thread but do you guys think Muradov can finish Meerschaert in a round and a half? The odds look nice might take that one I don't know much about Muradov but I seen Khamzat eliminate the other dude

I don't think so. He's not exactly urgent. It took him 2 and a half rounds, and a perfect punch, to get Trevor Smith out of there.

How about that submission prop. Of course I was no benefactor of it. My friend was however. He was 100% sure of it too.
