how do we know it’s for sure an error? But yeah I checked FanDuel as well and it’s flipped. Will they then null my bet or will it get to stand since I made it in time?

I don’t see how putting a measly $12 on what looked like good odds could get me banned from a book. Not like I rushed in with a quarter of my bank roll.

    still +1100 an hour later

I’m still a gambling rookie. This is the first I’ve heard of line errors.

Yeah I'm on the same boat. Never dealt with this situation before. Would be pretty crazy for them to ban my account for a mistake on their part. I imagine they would just null the bet (or at least I hope lol)

UFC fight pass is doing an "On the line" episode for this event at 7pm EST (1 hour away). Pretty rare they do one for a fight night. Fun show to watch even if you don't agree with the picks.

Definitely a line error. That line should be flipped with the tko line. That’s the way it is on all other books

Some books will outright ban or limit you. Dimes used to be notorious for that. You should be ok if this is the first time.

Damn. Well I appreciate the heads up. I wasnt aware that it could have such severe consequences. Hopefully the retribution is merciful and they just nullify the bet.

Does anyone know where sabatini got his black belt from? Says he cross trains at renzo philly but he can’t be a Gracie bjj guy. He takes way too many risks on the ground and tries to throw out a lot of leg locks

I train with him at Renzo Gracie Philly. He trains under Daniel Gracie.

Interesting to see a Gracie guy going for leg locks and favoring submissions over position

not a good look when you’re going against an animal like alves

I think you may see more of that style from the east coast Renzo camp of Gracie BJJ. After all he is the one who gave John "50% of the human body" Danaher his black belt.

I'm completely biased on this fight since he is my training partner, but he is an absolute savage in the gym and our coaches are very optimistic about this match up. I know this is almost irrelevant since any UFC caliber fighter would rightfully seem like an absolute savage to me and they wouldn't have accepted the fight without being optimistic but still, I gotta ride with my boy here.

Also, Pat has a pretty sophisticated grappling game. Not only does he have the BJJ blackbelt but he has also traveled to Russia for combat Sambo tournaments, so I'd like to think he isn't completely resigned to the all out submission style.

I do think he’s a good grappler and has the style to beat alves but all it takes is one mistake with this guy. Alves has a tremendous squeeze and he also hits like a truck. Sabatini is going to be looking for takedowns and if he leaves his neck out there he could get choked out.

mid he can survive with alves he could wear him down with grappling and take a decision or potentially a 3rd round choke.

righr now I’m playing alves rd 1 ko +1000 which is a very generous line and sabatini rd 3 sub +2500.

personally I think the matchup is great but a bit of a head scratcher putting two good prospects up against each other for their first ufc fight

One thing to note about Alves is that he's been finished in all 9 of his losses and has a TKO loss by retirement. Alves has some quit in him. I really like Pat in this fight and I've got nearly 100% exposure to him in my DK lineups since there's good value on his price.

What is his walk-around weight? Even though he is listed as 5' 9" I get the impression he could cut down to BM if he wanted, and Alves is a huge FW.

Alves looks like a beast, his cardio also seemed fine in his last 2 decision wins where he won the third round in both. I think Alves will be too powerful for Sabatini, but Alves does take a lot of chances and he gets reversed a lot on the ground, so if it becomes a wrestling match he could certainly lose. He still has all the tools to win this fight and is the rightful favourite.

I would 100% agree that he could cut down to BM if he chose to. He isn't the biggest guy which is probably why he will have no issue taking this fight on just 8 days notice.

Couldn't stop laughing when I read that. Klose has been consistently given decent opportunities and match ups even though he's a guy who can't finish a sandwich, cheats like crazy and is a magnet for close decisions.

Where is Pena Training these days?

After doing some tape on Aspinall, I'm fairly confident he's going to leave the openings to be taught a lesson in his first UFC loss.
